Tradition and modernization

Does one must choose between Tradition and modernization? The speaker asserts that it is necessary. While i agree that modernization is much different from tradition both in time and place, i still disagree with the speaker. Modernization connects to tradition in many aspects. My reasons are as follows.

Admittedly, tradition has many aspects which modernization can't tolerance. The ancient persons believe that there are disasters when the saw the sky become black. In their opinion, it means they had done harmful to others and the god angry with it and he or she will receive punish. Today, we know that it is just a normal astronomy vision and this is the wrong way to think of the rule of the nature. From this point of view, modernization and tradition are incompatible, and one must choose between them. Otherwise, he or she may lose himself or herself in the daily life.

However, tradition is the base of modernization. Tradition just likes the seeds and the modernization likes the fruits. No seeds and no fruits. Such as the language, if our ancestors haven't invested the word in the ancient, perhaps, we are still at the stone time or more ineffective time. On this point of view, leaving out the tradition, there is no modernization. And when it comes to the technology the tradition also connects to modernization. So there are so many theories which have been opened for all of persons that the scientists may have more time to do their research and calculates. Therefore, the tradition is very important for modernization.

On the other hand, the tradition also can improve the level of modernization.
All of us know that success is stand on the shoulder of successful man. More great tradition will bring a higher level of modernization. As we know, the since the Industry Reform, the UK going on the high way of development. Hundreds of years have gone by the UK still stand the top of modernize country. Many other countries are seems to the UK, also for the reson the have a great tradition since the Industry Reform.

To sum up, in some aspects the tradition may be the obstacle of the development of modernization. While, in many other aspects the tradition is the seeds and the modernization is the fruits. No tradition and no modernization. Therefore, it is unwise to assert that tradition and modernization are incompatible. When we choose between them we should determined case-by-case.
