TOPIC: ISSUE49 - "Imaginative works such as novels, plays, films, fairy tales, and legends present a more accurate and meaningful picture of human experience than do factual accounts. Because the creators of fiction shape and focus reality rather than report on it literally, their creations have a more lasting significance."

Imaginative works, compared with the factual accounts, do appeal more meaningful of human experience. However, when it refers to the accuracy, I prefer to the factual accounts. Additionally, i don't believe that the creations of the imaginative workers have a more lasting significance.

First and foremost, just because of the progress of shaping reality, in which the creators can put much individual feelings, we hardly convince that the imaginative works are more accurate. The best example should be novels. Common sense tells me that many roles in novel are create only by author's imagination. And many of their behaviors are designed in order to reflect the main points of the whole work or author's feeling. Then can we still view them as an accurate picture of human experience? In the reality, there is no so many heroes or princesses as the novels write.

However, I have to admit that such imaginative works make us better understand this colorful world, especially in human feelings. By various ways in expression and different styles, roles in imaginative works are more vivid than the factual accounts. Even everyone can find himself in these works. We often admire the creators’ imagination and detailed descriptions, have the same feelings of the roles in the works, and sometimes doubt whether there are such group of people as the described in reality. All of the above support the author's claim that imaginative works draw a more meaning picture of human experience than the factual accounts.

Moreover, the second claim, fictions are of greater importance than the literal works by the creators' shaping and focusing reality, just flies in the face of empirical. On the one hand, we cannot find a criterion to value the lasting significance of creations. Form Greeks to now, numerous works have been left, as heritages of human civilization, including fictions and literal works. The style of a work should be the second, when it meets the ideas. No matter what it seems like, if it can convey the feeling of the author and make a resonance with the reader, the work then can be deemed as more lasting significance. For example, famous historical work, it has also influenced people in so many years

In sum, to value a creation whether has a more lasting significance, as i see, mainly based on whether it reflects feelings of human and have a identical belief with the readers. Furthermore, imaginative works, owing to author's own imagination, present less accurate than the factual ones, by which i should admit that it does be more meaning as the author claimed.
