What do you want most in a friend - someone who is intelligent, or someone who has a sense of humor, or someone who is reliable? Which one of these characteristics is most important to you? Use reasons and specific examples to explain your choice.


      It seems not a difficult question to me. I would choose a friend with a sense of humor. It is important to me that my friends are humorous, because a friend with a sense of humor can bring me joviality, which will promote physical and mental health ,and an optimistic attitude about life.

      Above all, my main reason is that a friend with a sense of humor can release my pressure when I was troubled by a boring task . With the rapid development of our society, the increasing living and work pace is putting college pressure on me. Friends with a sense of humor can lead you to a new visual angle of the world, where the troubles and tensions can be relieved. When I was working with my friend, he told me that the tough work is a chance for us to exercise our arms and legs and we would be more stronger after the four-hour work. It was called a “gift” that the professor sent to us today, his words encouraged us carry on our work with our laughter

      Another reason is that, usually, a friend with a sense of humor enjoys a good interpersonal
relationship. Having many good friends are very important in today’s society, excellent interpersonal relations not only enrich the experience of me but also broaden my mind. With a humorous friend you can absorb a lot of useful information through an interesting and friendly conversation, and at the same time, make yourself known by others.

      One is lucky if he has a humorous friend in his daily life. When he was tired in doing his difficult task, a joke will
chase away his fatigue, relax his mind and adjust sentiments. Furthermore, he will be encouraged to make more efforts in your work for the reason that the friend with a sense of humor can always give him the hope of life.

      In conclusion, I think that a friend with a sense of humor is best for me and beneficial for my future. As stated above, a friend with a sense of humor can always bring you the hope and optimistic attitude when you come across the problems in life. However, everyone has his standard to choose his friend, and it is important to find the one who suits you best.
