It is better for students at university or in college to choose difficult classes even if they cannot get top grades.
% ?
I generally agree with the notion that it is better for university or college student to choose difficult classes even if they are not able to get top scores. However I suggest that some specific conditions should be taken into consideration for university or college student to choose difficult modules.6 y2 I! W% K0 r* W/ f
My general agreement to such an idea is based on the following reasons. First of all, most universities and colleges provide a wide range of modules(courses) for students to choose from. And these modules(which) covers from life science to computer technology, from law to business, from literature to art design, so on and so forth. In fact, most universities and colleges provide students with the opportunities to choose(select) classes not only in(from) his/her own major, but in other majors(你想表达的是辅修课程吗?supplementary courses) that this student is interested as well(but other supplementary courses which students are interested in as well). Under such circumstances, if(Supposed) a student chooses(has an option of) his/her module only because it's easier to get high grades in such modules(his/her module on account of high grades which he/she is more likely to get) ,it is really a waste(dissipation) of the rich education resources (which privileged and blessed students have possess in university or college)which this student is so blessed to have in university or college.(此段的论点学生通过选择简单课程以获得高学分是一种教育资源浪费好像无法证明本文中心,即那些没有得到高学分的同学也应该选修较难课程)6 h$ m6 l; ]( i
Besides ,by choosing more difficult classes, the student(students) might(tend to) be able to have the access to the front line of a certain field, in which case the student's future endeavor in this field could be very much benefited. Take my own experience for example, I once chose a master module on architectural research methodology which was very difficult for an undergraduate student. However despite the fact that I did not get a very high score for my final dissertation compared to other master students(Compared to that of other master students, however, i failed to get a high score for my final dissertation), I do think I learned a lot on architecture history and theory through the required reading of many books ,and besides, because of this module I got to know (i was acquainted with)some great professors who've been aiding(who had assisted me with 应该举例提供哪些机会) my study ever since. In this sense, to choose a difficult class might serve to broden a student's horizon and offer him/her some unexpected opportunities.

Nevertheless we have to keep in mind that we still should avoid choosing classes simply(randomly) because it is difficult. Such a way of choosing modules only hampers the student further development in his/her study. For example, if the content(complexity) of certain module is completely beyoud the knowledge base of a certain student(beyond capacity of students have grasped, choose as they still does, they rarely could pioneer an avenue of what they research) and this student still chooses this module, it is very likely thatthe student could not even find a way to start entering the field of such a module. Thus taking such a module for this student is simply a waste of time. So (so与上句thus重复 in other words,)although university and college students should be encouraged to choose a module he/she is interested in even if such module is difficult, students should still take into account of his/her own capability of learning such a module, and then make a wise choice.8 L; r' Z% e3 z \$ a( g2 T

To conclude, it is generally better for university or college student to choose difficult classes even if they might not be granted high grades, however in choosing the modules, students' own ability in studying such class should be taken into consideration, otherwise the chosen class would unfortunately become a waste of time for the student. |
