I`m always hearing my friends complaining the tour they just went through valueless and meaningless, this is not because the place of interest lack of fantasy but that they had no guide to tell them the history of the place. And as far as I am concerned, I strongly agree with the opinion that the best way to travel is in a group led by a tour guide.
Admitted or not , a tour guide save tourists a great deal of time, compared with a journey without a guide, he/she directly bring tourists to the most meaningful place. for example, one day visit to the forbidden city is not more than enough to enjoy the whole marvelous palace, with a tour guide, tourists are able to manage the major part of the palace.
What is more, without history and cultural stories, the place of interest means nothing. A tour guide plays an significant role in illustrating the mysterious story of the famous place, which is hard for tourists themselves to discover. It is the beautiful stories that makes the visit vivid and colorful.
As one coin has two sides, there are some disadvantages with a guide. The interest of tourists varies from person to person, as a result, it is difficult to satisfy all the special needs of different tourists. sometimes visitors have to sacrifice to turn to the places meaningless to them to keep a coherent pace with the whole group. As to this problem, the guide may supply some free time for the visitors after illustrating the stories.


In conclusion, despite of the disadvantages a guide may probably bring to us, most influence exerted by the guide are desirable and beneficial. Providing professional guiding with some appropriate time to visitors themselves, guides are capable of meet the major needs of every visitor.
