Do you agree with the following statement: nowadays people spend too much time on personal enjoyment –things they like to do—rather than the things they should do.

With technology development and the skyrocketing progress of society, an increasing number of things could be provided to people. Thus , there exist a heat debate among people that whether people take too much time on personal enjoyment things they like to do rather than the things they should do. From my point of view, it is not reasonable to conclude that claim for there are two following reasons.

Before verifying my point, I must make it clear that the things people like to do, such as personal enjoyment, are also including their interests. At the same time, the things they should do are primarily related to both the self-valuation achievement and the society obligation which one person should afford.

First of all, two kinds of things are no exclusive since people could have a gorgeous influence on the society and what they have done make the world progress when they enjoy their personal entertainment. For instance, the well-known website “YouTube” first was established by two men because they would like to share videos which were done by themselves to others. It is just an interest in recording things of life and sharing it with other people that caused a world-spreading website’s birth and this website stimulates the prosperity of the internet resource sharing. Therefore, we could not say that people spend too much time on personal enjoyment rather than the things they should do for they could also make society go forward when they enjoy their own life. Hillary Clinton once said that she was always encouraging young generation, both boys and girls, to follow their heart and chase their dream.

In addition, people can arrange their time better than before with the perfection of education, including parents’ and schools’ teaching. Take my experience for example, the world around us provides so much information about teaching children to be a person who knows how to make a good plan for himself and my mother often remembers me about the possibility to carry out my plan and invigorate me to have some enjoyment when I finish my work. From that way, I could have my life been in order and the things done effectively. Nowadays, we could find more and more people could not only complete the things they should do, but enjoy a cheerful life in their leisure times.

Consequently, we should not have a skin-deep conclusion that people ignore the things they should do and put more energy and time on the entertainment. People can make brilliant contribution to the society when they have their personal enjoyment as well as deal better with two kinds of things and have them worked well along with each other.
