There is a nationwide controversy over whether technology will cause children show less creative. The people who are object to this point may argue that the technology has brought a lot of convenience to us which can help us create more, however, on the other hand, the people who support this view may argue that the independence of children has been impacted by development of technology. Although I appreciate that the technology has brought a considerable number of convenient things to us, however, as far as I am concerned, I believe that the independence of creative thoughts has been weaken by technology.



To begin with, admittedly, technology, treated as the fundamental factor of production capability, has largely promoted the progress in social and cultural
progress. Technology progress is a symbol of exploration and persistence in the history of human and has also showed great significance in developing the sight and construing new knowledge structure, especially the knowledge held by the children, towards the world. Consider, for example, the free fall experiment conducted by Galileo has made the people believed law of gravity and the heliocentric
theory claimed by Copernicus is of central importance in the process of updating the concept towards the universe ,and what’ more, towards the importance of people, of children.  



Turning to the aspects of losing the independence in creative thought of the children, we may found that, along with the dramatic development of technology, creative thoughts are becoming less and less for the reason that the convenience brought by the new technology has served the children well and it is unnecessary for the children to make something new depend on themselves alone. Technology has weaken the creative thoughts in the daily life of children. One apt illustration of this point involves the case on the transportation, as all the children are taking bus to the class, no new path which is quicker to the class can be found, and as almost all the children are fond of using computers to chart with others, there is little opportunities for them to go around and recognize the new meaning of life. As Lord Chesterfield cited “The knowledge of the world is only to be acquired in the world, and not in a closet.”, no one can deny the fact that the fresh knowledge, especially the creative, should be acquired from the world around.



Furthermore, technology has weaken the innovation when it comes to the respects of study or scientific research. The imitation, for instance, can be well accomplished by the computer and it is impractical, at least in the views of children , to explore the details in the process. The time has been saved, however, as far as I am concerned, less knowledge, which are the base of further creation and innovation, are received by the children. Giving the facts above, it is indisputable that there is less and less creative thoughts proposed by the children.



In conclusion, the technology is a two-edged weapon. The innovation comes from the progress of technology, and contrarily, weaken by technology as well. Children should be conscious while using technology, they should try to find something new, or even something unreasonable but not just depend on the technology with nothing gaining in mind. In order to contribute more to the social progress, children should be taught a right attitude to technology, only in this way can we benefit from the development of technology.
