Agree or not: technology cause children show less creative than they were in past.

Last day, my best friend's son, Jimmy, got a prize from school for his recent invention-mini portable fan, which people can put in the pocket. Actually it is his second time to do such an useful invention. He said the idea of inventing mini portable fan is aroused and inspired by nowadays advanced technologies which have pervaded all aspects of our lives. He also said that because nowadays technologies are very useful, he also wants to show his ability to create something useful for people. So, when I heard that technology causes children show less creative, I can not accept this opinion. And, from my personal perspective, I do think that technology causes children show more creative.

Firstly, nowadays many useful inventions have been created based on current technologies, and an official statistic shows that 50% of the inventions are created by children. This statistic also shows that with the development of our society and technology, our children show their unique creation abilities to create many new things. Just as I mentioned above, Jimmy is an example. One of his inventions, mini portable fan, is mostly based on the traditional fan technology. But the fan that created by Jimmy can be taken and used by people anywhere and anytime even while they are walking under the hot sun. The unique characteristic of the fan is its portable function. This function also applies to computer such as portable laptop. So, if there is no such a basic fan technology before, how can Jimmy create his portable fan?

Secondly, children own special intrinsic personality, which make them seek, design, and then create novel things. This intrinsic personality can not be changed by anything, nor changed by technology. Don’t you find that children like asking “Why”? That is because they are willing to find something, something they do not know but want to know. I remember that my computer professor told me that many computer programs and those fascinating online games we current use are created by children. How could they create these programs? I think it due to children’s intrinsic creative personality. Finding something new, then designing them and creating them are what children’s personality really are.

From what I mentioned above, I would say technology give children more inspirations to do creation.
