Nowadays, people more and more think about how to perform in such a big country, we have got some financial problem, some political problem, and the attitude to our status in the international stage is also a complex issue that we need to face now. Let us move to a more practical context, in China, we use money to cultivate the athletes, and in that way, we have got good performance in the 2008 Olympic game. But, we must to give a debate on whether it is valuable than using these sources to support those artistic to expand our traditional culture to the other country? I think the answer is oblivious. That is government should pay more and more attentions on develop our art than putting the money in these wasteful areas to disgust their vanity.
The main reason I advocate this opinion is because the influence on the international world. We can put forward a assumption that if we do not take the money in raising those athletes, but in the encouraging the artistic to hold exhibitions which cover all aspects of the Chinese traditional culture, such as antique, life style, and the philosophy in ancient China to demonstrate the development of Chinese culture from Qin dynasty to the modern society. I think this is not just an assumption, but a hopeful idea if we do behave in that. For example, American does not know the China from 1980s. If you ask an American where is the china is in the map .He would tell you he does not know. But, along with the revolution in 1980s in china, Americans have known about china is a big economic factor in the world market. Sadly, they still do not know the ancient and charming Chinese culture. I believe it is not the fault of foreigner, just like we do not know the history of the European, but it is illustrate a fact that we never pay attentions on how to show our culture and how to explain why it is important to the whole world.
Another essential factor that I maintain the opinion of changing our idea to a more efficient way in looming our status in international world is the respect. No one can deny the fact that everybody respects the performance in justice. But, now in china, we use the irresponsible way to make the victory in matching and competing. That is using all efforts in country to train the athlete in order to get the champion in the Olympic game. The only target we use this method is winning, that is so ridiculous and sorrowful. No one would like to see these.
Weighting the sins of the wasting money in vanity, we do hope our government can do some practical things in acclaim our traditional culture and looming our people to a more elegant and grace extent.
