It’s better to use own knowledge and experience to solve question, or ask other people for advice?

Concerning the issue whether one should use his/her own knowledge and experience to solve question, or ask others for help, I think different scenarios should be taken into account, and the answer might vary from circumstance to circumstance.

To begin with, to solve one’s own problem by using his/her knowledge and experience is a basic requirement for an independent life. When one has the ability, the knowledge or the experience to solve a certain problem, he/she is certainly advised to do it by himself/herself, because otherwise, if one simply asks other for help every time when he/she encounters difficulty, he/she will never grow up to truly become a man or a woman.

Besides, there are times that one simply could not consult others for advice. For example, when one is taking an exam, he/she obviously can not ask others for the answers. Or perhaps one unfortunately gets lost in the forest, he/she simply has to find the way out using his/her knowledge and experience all by himself/herself. So in this sense, under some circumstances, it is the only way to solve the question by oneself.

However there are also scenarios that to ask help and aid from others is greatly advised. It is possible that one is totally new in a certain field of research, under such scenario, he/she has to ask other people for advice to see how such research could be and should be done. Also, it might be possible that one’s making a really important decision, like which university to choose or even whom to marry, in such cases, it would truly be better to consult some one who has more experience and understanding of such issues before making the decision.

To conclude, there are times that to solve the question by oneself is a better way or even the only way, while there are also times that it would be better to ask other for advice on how to solve the problem. Different circumstances and conditions should be taken into account specifically to see which way of problem solving would be better.
