Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Drivers should pay a fee to be allowed to drive on the city streets during the time when there is the greatest amount of traffic. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

I generally agree with the proposal to have drivers paid for their traveling on city streets during rush hours. In my opinion, if appropriately used, this could be an efficient way to reduced traffic jams in cites.

To begin with, we have to admit that the traffic condition in some major cities is in a crucial point: we are so used to be stacked on the way to work or back home if we live in these cities. In fact, part of the reason for such an unfortunate situation is that there is not so much restriction for people to drive their cars where they want to go. Such a freedom boosts people’s desire to use cars as their major transportation tool, which in turn, serve to causes the traffic jam. In a sense, by putting more restrict on the drivers could ease the horrible traffic situation in the cities.

Under such circumstances, the proposal to have drivers paid to drive in the rush hours has in fact proved to be a great tool according to the precedence. Take Singapore, the city I’m living in for example, the government has enacted similar system to charge drivers if they drive in the major commercial streets in rush hours. Such a policy has proved successful because no more do we see huge traffic jams on those streets. In this sense, such a method could indeed influence the drivers to give their traveling on rush hours a second thought.

However we should note that, such a method should be used appropriately as to achieve the desirable effect. By this I mean studies of the current traffic condition should be made first, and then based on the result of these studies, we could decide on what specific road and in what specific time should the drivers be charged. The researches are important because after all, we need to take into account of the right and benefit of those drivers, and try to offer them alternative routes to go to work or go home.

To conclude, the method to have drivers paid for their traveling on city streets in rush hours is generally an effective tool to reduce the traffic. Still, researches on the current traffic condition should be made as to seek the best way to use such a method.

To begin with, we have to admit that the traffic condition in some major cities is in(at?) a crucial point: we are so used to be stacked on the way to work or back home if we live in these cities. In fact, part of the reason for such an unfortunate situation is that there is not so much restriction for people to drive their cars where they want to go. Such a freedom boosts people’s desire to use cars as their major transportation tool, which in turn, serve to causes the traffic jam. In a sense, by putting more restrict(restriction) on the drivers could ease the horrible traffic situation in the cities.

Under such circumstances, the proposal to have drivers paid to drive in the rush hours has in fact (been) proved to be a great tool according to the precedence. Take Singapore, the city I’m living in for example, the government has enacted similar system to charge drivers if they drive in the major commercial streets in rush hours. Such a policy has (been) proved successful because no more do we see huge traffic jams on those streets. In this sense, such a method could indeed influence the drivers to give their traveling on rush hours a second thought.

To conclude, the method to have drivers paid for their traveling on city streets in rush hours is generally an effective tool(前面用过tool了...这里换成way吧...呵呵...我自己YY的) to reduce the traffic. Still, researches on the current traffic condition should be made as to seek the best way to use such a method.
