Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? People can learn more from watching television than reading books. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.(07.02.03

According to a recent statistic on the internet, the number of people watching TV to gain knowledge and information occupies 65 percent, and has a tendency of increasing. This follows a hitting debate on whether people can learn more from watching television than reading books. People may prefer one to another although some may have no opinions about it at all. Before rending my opinion, I feel it is necessary to take a glance at the arguments of both sides.
It is quite easy for average people to hold the statement that television provides more latest and interesting information, consequently, people tend to acquire more than that from books.
But at the same time, although television has some advantages, it also has many drawbacks such as soap operas and meaningless advertisement. Therefore we have no complete evidence to suggest that learning from television is always better than books. What is more, contrary to many peoples idea is my heartfelt objection that people harvest more from television than reading books.
Here I would explain a few of the most significant reasons. The main reason is that books supply us with deep and comprehensive knowledge. On the contrary, we can only get access to some general information from television. To illustrate this, there is an appropriate example that is very persuasive. When China entered WTO, there are large amount of programs on television to report this exciting news. most people are just aware of the importance of the chance for China joins into WTO, notwithstanding, why is it important? Few are able to answer satisfying. It is not until I referred to the book named The Entrance Into WTO that I purely understand why our country are so eager to be one of the WTO members. The book
illustrates the history of WTO as well as the trade barriers, the GATT.

Elaborate information is only part of the important aspects and another equally significant role of books lies in the development of further research. If you are needed to expert in a certain field, such as medical science, what you learned from television is not far more than enough. Only with book studying can you master the knowledge. This demonstrate the undeniable fact that although some remote children even never seen a TV set, they still perform extraordinarily well when they enter senior school with the urban students.
Finally, as a proverb says, “one coin has two sides” Although I admit that there are a couple of advantages of learning from books, I still believe that the disadvantages of it are obvious. For example, It can not catch up with the pate of the changing world.
If all the factors above are considered, we will find out that the advantages of learning from reading outweigh those of television. Therefore from we have discussed, we may safely come to the conclusion that reading books to assimilate knowledge is a rather wise decision. But I have not denied the opinion that learning from television. I must admit that people can do well without television, but no one can ignore the added convenience and satisfaction offered by books. Such traditional method will definitely be helpful in one`s later life.

看你的作文依旧很佩服你的英文水平!用了多种句式短语。
但是你对论点的论证并不是很好,后两个例子选的不是很好。
