NO. SECTION B---S

The whole biosphere, like the individual organisms that live inside it, exists in a chemically dynamic state (dynamic state: 动态). In this homeostatic system, a great number of organic compounds are synthesized, transformed, and decomposed continuously; together, these processes constitute the major parts of the carbon cycle. For the smooth operation of this cycle, degradation is just as important as synthesis: the green plants produce great quantities of polymers, such as cellulose, and innumerable other compounds like alkaloids, terpenes, and flavonoids, that green plants cannot use as sources of energy during respiration. The release of the carbon in these compounds for recycling depends almost entirely on the action of both aerobic and anaerobic bacteria and certain types of fungi. Some bacteria and fungi possess the unique and extremely important biochemical asset of being able to catalyze the oxidation of numerous inert products, thereby initiating reaction sequences that produce carbon dioxide and so return much carbon to a form that actively enters into life cycles once again.
25.
The passage contains information that would answer which of the following questions about the carbon cycle?

I.
What are some of the compounds that are broken down in the carbon cycle?

II.
Why are some compounds that are involved in the carbon cycle less reactive than others?

III.
What role do bacteria and fungi play in the carbon cycle?

(A) I only
(B) II only
(C) III only
(D) I and II only
(E) I and III only
26.
The author implies that which of the following is the primary reason that degradation is as important as synthesis to the smooth operation of the carbon cycle?

(A) Most of the polymers and organic compounds found in the plant kingdom are chemically unstable.
(B) The synthesis of some organic material deprives life processes of an energy source.
(C) Decomposition permits the recycling of carbon that would otherwise be fixed in certain substances.
(D) Many organisms cannot use plants as a source of food, but can feed on bacteria and fungi.
(E) Bacteria and fungi could not survive if some carbon compounds were not degraded.
27.
The author’s contention about the importance of bacteria and fungi in the production of energy for life processes would be most clearly strengthened if which of the following were found to be true?

(A) Both aerobes and anaerobes provide sources of energy through the decomposition of organic material.
(B) Most compounds containing carbon are unavailable as energy sources except to some bacteria and fungi.
(C) Bacteria and fungi break down inert material in ways that do not involve oxidation.
(D) Many compounds remain inert, even in the presence of bacteria and fungi.
(E) Bacteria and fungi assist in the synthesis of many organic compounds.

The whole biosphere, like the individual organisms that live inside it, exists in a chemically dynamic state (dynamic state: 动态)(开头先给biosphere一个定义). In this homeostatic system, a great number of organic compounds are synthesized, transformed, and decomposed continuously(不断的合成、转换、分解); together, these processes constitute the major parts of the carbon cycle.(深入一层,谈到了biosphere里的carbon cycle----关键点).
(紧接着开始碳循环的运转机理)For the smooth operation of this cycle, degradation is just as important as synthesis(本句重点,冒号后面都是对它的解释,这里该出题了,显然会是出题点): the green plants produce great quantities of polymers, such as cellulose, and innumerable other compounds like alkaloids, terpenes, and flavonoids, that green plants cannot use as sources of energy during respiration.

The release of the carbon in these compounds for recycling depends almost entirely on(引出本句重点,这里也是出题点) the action of both aerobic and anaerobic bacteria(好氧厌氧细菌) and certain types of fungi(真菌).
Some bacteria and fungi possess the unique and extremely important(提示这里是出题点:关于细菌与真菌的作用) biochemical asset of being able to catalyze the oxidation of numerous inert products(惰性产物), thereby initiating reaction sequences that produce carbon dioxide and so return much carbon to a form that actively enters into life cycles once again.(解释细菌与真菌为什么重要,它们的作用)
25.
The passage contains information that would answer which of the following questions about the carbon cycle?(全文的掌握)

I.
What are some of the compounds that are broken down in the carbon cycle?(numerous inert products

II.
Why are some compounds that are involved in the carbon cycle less reactive than others?

III.
What role do bacteria and fungi play in the carbon cycle?(catalyze

(A) I only
(B) II only
(C) III only
(D) I and II only
(E) I and III only
26.
The author implies that which of the following is  that the primary reason degradation is as important as synthesis to the smooth operation of the carbon cycle

27.
The author’s contention about the importance of bacteria and fungi in the production of energy for life processes would be most clearly strengthened if which of the following were found to be true?(答案:最后一段换一种表达)

紧接着就介绍了为什么;然后进一步深入,说明分解依赖于the action of both aerobic and anaerobic bacteria(好氧厌氧细菌) and certain types of fungi(真菌)。

26A选项中unstable为干扰项,文中提到的是这些compounds cannot use as sources of energy during respiration。

STEP ONE

The whole biosphere, like the individual organisms that live inside it, exists in a chemically dynamic state (dynamic state: 动态). In this homeostatic system, a great number of organic compounds are synthesized, transformed, and decomposed continuously; together, these processes constitute the major parts of the carbon cycle. For the smooth operation of this cycle, degradation is just as important as synthesis: the green plants produce great quantities of polymers, such as cellulose, (25、26、27)and innumerable other compounds like alkaloids, terpenes, and flavonoids, that green plants cannot use as sources of energy during respiration.
25.
The passage contains information that would answer which of the following questions about the carbon cycle?(其实这个第一题上来是小有难度的,它考的是对整个文章中细节的把握,但都集中在划线部分,算是降低了难度)

I.
What are some of the compounds that are broken down in the carbon cycle?

II.
Why are some compounds that are involved in the carbon cycle less reactive than others?

III.
What role do bacteria and fungi play in the carbon cycle?

(A) I only
(B) II only
(C) III only
(D) I and II only
(E) I and III only
26.
The author implies that which of the following is the primary reason that degradation is as important as synthesis to the smooth operation of the carbon cycle?(找到as impoetan as,定位就可以了,然后就是根据releas推理一哈)

27.
The author’s contention about the importance of bacteria and fungi in the production of energy for life processes would be most clearly strengthened if which of the following were found to be true?(根据划线部分易得答案)

The whole biosphere, like the individual organisms that live inside it(这种插入语很好用), exists in a chemically dynamic state (dynamic state: 动态).(第一句算是个引子,引出文章内容,很平常,应该不会涉及提点) In this homeostatic system, a great number of organic compounds are synthesized, transformed, and decomposed continuously; together, these processes constitute the major parts of the carbon cycle.到这里才是整个文章的TS,关键词也出现了,下面就是针对这个TS展开的~) For the smooth operation of this cycle, degradation is just as important as(特别提出分解的重要性,无论推理或细节,必为出题点~) synthesis: the green plants produce great quantities of polymers, such as cellulose, and innumerable other compounds like alkaloids, terpenes, and flavonoids(厚厚,这点儿真是让人小抓,几乎不认识,第二个词的中文意思我都不认识。。。 The release of the carbon in these compounds for recycling depends almost entirely on the action of both aerobic and anaerobic bacteria and certain types of fungi(开始讲分解途径了,新的概念 出现,必为出题点). Some bacteria and fungi possess the unique and extremely important biochemical asset of being able to(华丽地表达有。。。能力) catalyze the oxidation of numerous inert products, thereby(总结句) initiating reaction sequences that produce carbon dioxide and so return much carbon to a form that actively enters into life cycles once again.

For the smooth operation of this cycle, degradation is just as important as synthesis(表明文章的主题,考点): the green plants produce great quantities of polymers, such as cellulose, and innumerable other compounds like alkaloids, terpenes, and flavonoids, that green plants cannot use as sources of energy during respiration.(表明那些物质不能被直接利用,有可能作为细节题出现) The release of the carbon in these compounds for recycling depends almost entirely on the action of both aerobic and anaerobic bacteria and certain types of fungi. Some bacteria and fungi possess the unique and extremely important biochemical asset of being able to catalyze the oxidation of numerous inert products, thereby initiating reaction sequences that produce carbon dioxide and so return much carbon to a form that actively enters into life cycles once again.

No more words. No more comments.

The whole biosphere, like the individual organisms that live inside it, exists in a chemically dynamic state (dynamic state: 动态). In this homeostatic system, a great number of organic compounds are synthesized, transformed, and decomposed continuously; (背景介绍,出题的可能性不大)together, these processes constitute the major parts of the carbon cycle(中心词). For the smooth operation of this cycle, degradation is just as important as synthesis: (冒号表明要对"同等重要"做出解释)the green plants produce great quantities of polymers, such as cellulose, and innumerable other compounds like alkaloids, terpenes, and flavonoids, (并列写出,一看就知道全是一些专用名词,不用怕怕,略读)that green plants cannot use as sources of energy during respiration. (原因)The release of the carbon in these compounds for recycling depends almost entirely on the action of both aerobic and anaerobic bacteria and certain types of fungi. Some bacteria and fungi possess the unique and extremely important biochemical asset of being able to catalyze the oxidation of numerous inert products, thereby initiating reaction sequences that produce carbon dioxide and so return much carbon to a form that actively enters into life cycles once again.

25.The passage contains information that would answer which of the following questions about the carbon cycle?
I.What are some of the compounds that are broken down in the carbon cycle?(就是那一系列名词)
II.Why are some compounds that are involved in the carbon cycle less reactive than others?
III.What role do bacteria and fungi play in the carbon cycle?(文章后面都在说他们的作用)
(A) I only
(B) II only
(C) III only
(D) I and II only
(E) I and III only

26.The author implies that which of the following is the primary reason that degradation is as important as synthesis to the smooth operation of the carbon cycle?
(A) Most of the polymers and organic compounds found in the plant kingdom are chemically unstable.
(B) The synthesis of some organic material deprives life processes of an energy source.
(C) Decomposition permits the recycling of carbon that would otherwise be fixed in certain substances.
(D) Many organisms cannot use plants as a source of food, but can feed on bacteria and fungi.(我选的这个选项,被source干扰了)
(E) Bacteria and fungi could not survive if some carbon compounds were not degraded.

27.The author’s contention about the importance of bacteria and fungi in the production of energy for life processes would be most clearly strengthened if which of the following were found to be true?
(A) Both aerobes and anaerobes provide sources of energy through the decomposition of organic material.
(B) Most compounds containing carbon are unavailable as energy sources except to some bacteria and fungi.(分解不可用的碳正是细菌和真菌重要作用的体现)
(C) Bacteria and fungi break down inert material in ways that do not involve oxidation.
(D) Many compounds remain inert, even in the presence of bacteria and fungi.
(E) Bacteria and fungi assist in the synthesis of many organic compounds.
