Nowadays, the connections among communities, colleges and individuals have become much more frequent than in the past with the development of economy and cultures. Significant joint programs or agreements are prevalent at present. Therefore, we confront with communication and cooperation of the assignment and plan contained in contract with our collaborators. At this time, a profound teamwork ability is indispensable to establish an amicable mutual relationship, to stimulate creative ideas and to nourish a competent group.

Initially, an individual who is willing to cooperate with others will be more popular in a team. Why Yao Ming is so welcome in NBA? Undoubtedly, his super basketball skill is one aspect. I think the other essential reason is that he owns good ability of cooperation. He never plays alone regardless of other members. On the contrary, if he played selfishly and win the game finally, I bet members would complain of his action. For it’s a teamwork, not an individual game! It makes no sense of cooperation if one can complete it by himself.

An additional factor involves this recognition that novel thought usually sprout from cooperation. In our daily life, we often get confused encountering some problems and then feel that they are actually so easy after discussion with someone. It’s definitely true in our work also. Take myself for example, I’m majored in geology and now I have a research with a graduate student majored in geophysics. I could illustrate my point using his results as a new evidence. So it means that we could learn from each other and make our research wonderful.

Lending more credence to my point is that teamwork is helpful to cultivate a powerful team. It’s well known that basketball game or football match both look up on cooperation among members. A team will be on the edge of failure if every player destracts and defaults in their respective position. There is also an old proverb in China, saying one chopstick is easy to be snapped, while ten aren’t.

In a nutshell, I hold the opinion that cooperation today is much more essential than in the past in terms of individual and group. Effective teamwork in a group will produce substantial benefit and contribution to both sides. Then, there will be further chance to continue the work or start a new research. However, awful cooperation will make collaborator not trust in you anymore.
