It is widely believed that imparting specific knowledge to students is the basic obligation of a teacher. However, on a personal level, I think an eligible teacher will not only satisfy with improving his students to the marvelous realm of intelligence, but also .imparting them to form vigorous personality. I ascribe my decision to the reasons elucidated as follows.
Self-confidence is a motivator which can inspire a child interests and ambitions of learning the unknown world. Undoubtedly it is the first step when children have the courage to face difficult problems because at least they want to have a try. At this time, teachers can encourage children by telling them they were well-done as these commitments can help people to believe in themselves. Only a confidential student would like to spend more time and energy to study hard. On the other side, scientific data also shows that the inactive students could not absorb as well as the positive and confidential ones.
Success cannot be measured in terms of money or power. Also an excellent student is not the one who gets the highest score in the examination. Generally speaking, a useful man should first be a lofty people who keeps optimistic attitude in life. As a ridiculous instance in point, in 2002,Liu haiyang, a student of Tsinghua University, vitriolzed five bears in Beijing zoo just want to test the poor animals’ olfactory sense. Through this accident, we could not say one is excellent even he was from a famous college if one who affected with an antisocial personality disorder.
The person who own large amount of money and broad powers may not be very happy, but the confidential person can enjoy the life and finally success. Obviously teachers cannot ask everybody to be scholar because each of us has our goals for which we are continuously striving, but we could encourage children to overcome obstacles in the future by helping them to trust themselves in the life.
To sum up, a successful teacher should pay attention on both two sides. He could help the students to set up his self-confidence and also can teach them specific knowledge. Only in this way, our students can grow up healthy and develop in balance.
