When it comes to a vital topic of whether it is important to know news happening the world over, there are always diverse viewpoints among the general public in society. Although a part of events are unlikely to affect our daily life, why a growing number of people prefer to read newspaper in the morning, check on news on internet at spare time and watch news on television after dinner? No one can deny the significance of obtaining events happening around the world can never be exaggerated.

To begin with, a majority of people watch news in order to catch up the latest fashions and topics in the office. World wide news entertains their boring office time, which is fresh everyday and will never fade. Men are interested in events on wars and economy. They are quite familiar with the latest news on terrorist attack and they frequently discuss their opinion on these events at lunch time. Ladies, on the other hand, prefer to talk about clothes on the latest Fashion Week shows.

Furthermore, the latest events are not just for entertaining, we can still be enlightened after watching them. If Abraham Lincoln did not realize the importance of gaining events happening around the world, he could not be the president of Unite States. As a child, he led an indigent life, and he has been to school for just six months. What inspired him to leave that poor village and step into the white house? There is little doubt that he instructed events happening outside over the world, at the same time, he enlarged his knowledge in all directions. News happening around the world taught and inspired his to be a great president. According, we should make good use of current affairs, probably you will be the next president.

As a matter of fact, we can make some contributions to the world, although it isn't big enough to stop a war. Events are happening everywhere, including the place we are living. After watching the local news, I realized that there are a majority of people lacking of money to rescue their beloved person, consequently, I always took part in volunteer groups to help them. Honestly, there are a great number of things we can do to improve our environment, including stopping cutting trees, getting down to protect extinct animals, saving fresh water, etc.

For the reasons presented above, I strongly approve of the statement that it is essential to catch up the current affairs happening the world over, news can entertain us, enlighten us and at the same time, we can make great contributions in return.
