It is the common thing for each person that sometimes we face two tasks in one time, and must finish them in a given time. Under such circumstance, some prefer to take a step by step strategy--finish one thing first before take up another, because this mean services to devote energy and spirit completely to one (each)task. However, I would like to start the two projects at the one(same) time and then finish them at the same time (together). 4 _, z. @; o, V1 I9 R; m6 s3 ^

The first reason for my choice has something to do with time assignment. If we put one task aside when addressing another issue, we often fail to give the second task enough time; the result is that we can not finish the second one in time. Consider, the two tasks have equal importance, and the criteria regarding the situation of finishing both, can a person who get an "A" on the first item but unfinished the second one be thought better than a person who finish both the two tasks? Of course not. Being a social person, it is unpractical for us to completely think about one thing while ignoring the(delete) others. We human, being sophisticated creators must assign our limited time to various tasks, and hold the capacity to address complex things. ( Y U8 r8 s+ e& _

The second reason why I prefer to finish two tasks at the same time is related to mental experience. This aspect could be discussed in two points. The first one is "though fixation".' w. M. G5

"Though fixation" is an psychological term, which describes the situation that people always try to solve a problem by one or several limited methods, which all failed, and can not think out any useful means other than those. It is a common sense for us when we focusing ourselves on one problem, in other words, take one thing in one time often misguide us to the situation of "thought fixation". The result of this is clear--we can not finish the thing on hand successfully as we expire, the more urgent we are, the more thoughtless we feel. What can we do? Run out of the task and the previous thoughts! It is frequently that when we get out of the things we fixed, do not think about it, a fresh and valuable idea suddenly appear in our mind--an idea with which we can solve the problem! So, just take up another project. When you leave it, you will find it.
The second point is "physical pressure". As we all know, pressure could be either a blessing or a curse in working, which depends on how you face it. It seems to me that when we put another task aside and take one thing in one time, we often ask ourselves: Can I leaving enough time for the second task? Can I finish the first one properly? Thus, we encounter double pressures. Once something attacks the process of addressing the first task, it amount to threaten the two aspects mentioned above (give enough time for addressing the second item, complete the first item), which will increase our pressure undoubtedly. In contrast, when we do two tasks at the same time, the pressure focus on one point: Can I finish the two in time? In other words, we view the two tasks as a whole, we will not fail for the reason that "guci shibi" as Chinese say--which means think of the first thing, while being afraid of can not finish the second thing, as a result fail on both. It is obviously that choose(choosing) to finish two things at the same time automatically reduce the pressure we will face, while choose/ing the former strategy add to our pressure which make us overload and is harmful in completing work.

In the final analysis, although the method of doing one project first before addressing the other sometimes can compel us put all heart in only one task in one time, it is useless or even harmful for most people in most conditions. On the other hand, the mean of completing two projects at the same time is pragmatic.+ |
