Televsion invented in last century ,with its wide availability ,increasingly prosperous programmes ,becomes a most powerful means of entertainment in our lives especially for the young generation,however,it is haste to say that we can learn more from television than books.

For sure ,television can provide vivid and impressive scene that enable us understand information and knowledge with pleasure.

However ,books as a traditional reading text and knowledge source ,from which people can grasp a systematic knowledge structure.while television is a glimpse or a part of some subjects. Deeper understanding often results in quite different viewpoints on certain events.The heated debate on global economic crisis for instance,that nearly become the common focus that everyday related to.on Tv there are various news about the trend and severe influence,but what it is ?and why it can produce so serious effect ?people can only find the detail on professional books and receive a profound understanding. Besides ,knowledge according TV medium may not as accurate as the part of itself.it may sometimes seem easiler to involve ourselves into misunderstanding because of the political concerns, religion and racial antipathies.so reading book is the basic prerequisite to full understand the world around us .

Moreover ,television ,in most cases, as a entertainment industry which aims to pursue profit .thus,it must adapt to different appetites of the public that many programmes ony appealing to special group.while others may feel despondent watching uninteresting items.Muchworse, It is ridiculous that a live football match interrupted with commercial breaks. In addition,television performances encourage passivity on the part of the viewer.because we cannot determine what broadcast as well as the playbill.Motivated by profit the television like other commercial mediums is driven by people’s needs.

Finally, watching television has to be a process that the impression might silp people’s mind very soon,particularly concerning some digits,while we can review those figures in book whenever we want.from what has been mentioned above ,it is rather sensible to stand the point that reading book is more important in learing than watching TV.
