Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? The next twenty years from now on, students will not use printed books any more. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.08/04/07

This is the age of computers.When the computer connect with the internet,you can receive all the resources you want.Looking at the computer screen to find out which piece of information is useful to you is the basic skill for modern people.Therefore, I believe that the printed books will not be used among students any more.There are several disadvantages of using traditional paper books.

To begin with, the printed books are heavier then the E-book,which we can read on the screen.The school bags of elementary school children are always overloaded.They complain about the weight of their books,and their parents also argue that those heavy paper will damage to the body development of young child.Similary,the college students have a special box in classroom in order to put their dictionaries,even the adults con not afford the gravity of the thick paper book.Therefore,the government should put emophasis on developing the new technology in booking field.The new generation of books will replace the printed book in the next 20 years.

In additon,the printed books defenitly more expensive than the e-books.The price of the traditional book partly depends on the cost of paper and transportation fee.However,the e-books need not paper,and it can transport through the internet.That means it saves the money from the paper cost and transportation fee.Thus,it is cheaper than the printed book dramatically.This is a big favour for the poor students.Obviously,we should use the e-books in the future and it will be more welcomed.

Furthermore,the e-books protect our environment.As we all know, the printed book need the paper,and the paper made by trees.The trees in forest are cut down by humen beings which lead to enviromental problems such as global warming or acid rain.The wood play an essential role in our ecosystem.E-books will save the life of trees.Since we want to protect our environment,we should use the e-books instead of the trational paper books.

In conclusion,I believe that the merits of e-books will let everyone recognize that the printed books should not be used anymore.We have a convenient,cheap and environmental choice,no one will make wrong dicision.
