The twentieth century saw great change. In your opinion, what is one change that should be remembered about the twentieth century? Use specific reasons and details to explain your choice.

My answer:

There are lots of things happened that have changed world, in different ways, in different fields. And most of them brought us better lives, but some of them gave us pain. In my opinion, there is a particular thing changed our world totally, that’s the generation of computer and the Internet.

Computer and the Internet have changed the type of communication. Before they came up, people only used telephone and telegraph, which is not a quick way to talk with other people. Sometimes people cannot let each other know what they want to show if it is complicated. And the response would not be in time. But after computer and the Internet came up, people can talk even see each other in computer screens if only they have two computers and two net lines. So they can deal things like face to face, even they can show something like documents through their cameras. That’s more convenient than before.

Computer and the Internet have accelerated the speed of our lives. Long times ago, manufacture lines in many factories are slow that they could not produce many products for markets. But with the help of computer, factories can produce more merchandise than before in same time. Computer can speed up our efficiency. Even some facilities can run under computers’ control. Businessman/businesswoman can make more business online than before.

Computer and the Internet have burdened our horizons to world. With their help, people can search anything you want online, and they always can find answers that let them satisfied. For instance, when students started to do their research on something new, what do they do? They go find background online through Google, Wikipedia and so on. They could estimate paper based encyclopedia during researching. And even they are not researching; they can absorb knowledge they don’t know online.

Computer and the Internet do change our lives, they bring us to better, beautiful future.
