In this argument, the president concludes that Mira Vista College should offer more courses in business and computer technology and hire additional job counselors to help the graduates find employment. To support the conclusion, the president points out that last year’s graduating seniors in nearby Green Mountain College which has more bisiness courses and more job counselors than Mira Vista College does had more job offers from prospective employers. This argument suffers from several fallacies.
The major problem with this argument is that the president ingores the conditions of the two colleges might be quite different. The arguer offers no information of these two colleges. They might be incomplete. It’s likely that Green Mountain College is characterized with business study while Mira Vista College are good at cultivating students of arts or medicine or other subjects. Moreover, the president fails to consider several other relevant factors. For instance, Mira Vista College might be newly established while the Green Mountain College has long history and has good reputation, the employees are more likely to choose students graduated from Green Mountain College. Furthermore, the relationship between the fact that GMC has more business courses and job counselors and the fact that 90% of last year’s graduating seniors from GMC got job offers is unwarranted. Further investigation need to be carried out to find the other differences between these two colleges.
From the suvey quoted in the argument, however, we find no sign of such procedures for random sampling, and have good reason to doubt if the sample is representative to reflect the percentage of seniors who had job offers is high in GMC. The president don’t tell us the number of seniors last year from the two colleges. It is likely that there are more graduating seniors from MVC. Then,70% of the seniors found full-time jobs does not imply less graduates from GMC get job offers. In addition, three months is not particularly long time to get the final statistics. It is possible that more graduating seniors will get job offers after the three months.
To conclude, this argument is not persuasive as it stands. Before we accept the conclusion, the president should present more facts to demonstrate the reason of the difference between the percentage of the graduating seniors’ job offer is because of more business courses. To solify this argument, the president would have to produce more evidence concerning.

In this argument, the president concludes that Mira Vista College should offer more courses in business and computer technology and hire additional job counselors to help the graduates find employment. To support the conclusion, the president points out that last year’s graduating seniors in nearby Green Mountain College which has more business courses and more job counselors than Mira Vista College does had more job offers from prospective employers. This argument suffers from several fallacies.

The major problem with this argument is that the president ignores the conditions of the two colleges might be quite different. That the arguer offers few information of these two colleges leads to this comparison might be somewhat incomplete. It’s quiet likely that Green Mountain College is characterized with business study while Mira Vista College are good at cultivating students of arts or medicine or other subjects. Moreover, the president fails to consider several other relevant factors. For instance, Mira Vista College might be newly established while the Green Mountain College has long history and has a good reputation; therefore, students graduated from Green Mountain College maybe are the favor of employees than the students graduated from Green Mountain College. Furthermore, the relationship between the fact that GMC has more business courses and job counselors and the fact that 90% of last year’s graduating seniors from GMC got job offers is unwarranted. Further investigation need to be carried out to find the other differences between these two colleges.

From the survey quoted in the argument, however, we find no sign of such procedures for random sampling, and have justifications to doubt if the sample is fully representative to reflect the point that whether the percentage of seniors who had job offers is wonderful in GMC. Yet, the president overlooks the number of seniors last year from the two colleges. Perhaps there are more graduating seniors from MVC; and the statistics that 70% of the seniors found full-time jobs can not convince less graduates from GMC get job offers. In addition, three months is not particularly long time to get the final statistics. It is possible that more graduating seniors will get job offers after the three months.

To conclude, this argument is not persuasive as it stands. Before we accept the conclusion, the president should present more facts to demonstrate job-placement difference between the percentages of the graduating seniors’ job offer is solely due to the difference of business courses and job counselors. Finally, to solidify this argument, the president would have to produce more evidence concerning.
