For most of time, the problem really obsesses the education scientists and general parents who care about the education of their children is that whether or not the students could choose to study the courses they want to study. This is a tough question and there is no consensus among different people as to this argument. Some person confirm that high schools should not allow students to study the courses that they want to study, following with many benefits. But others prefer the opposite opinion, that is, the students have abilities to choose their courses based on their interests. From my personal angle along, the latter point coincides with mine and I will show my explanations about this opinion.

Although I agree there are some advantages to allow the students to choose whatever courses they interested, I confirm the advantages are more obvious when the high school make the identical decision for all students because the education scientists and teachers will have a mature choice. They have so deep understanding about the skills and ability brought by different courses that the high school students could be cultivated fully and wholly. Supposed that if let the students ,who most are beyond the eighteen years old, study the courses they want, they must participate in those interesting classes and ignore those essential but boring courses ,such as math that need keep calculating , and English that need remember without a stop. Therefore, it is not beneficial for those young people to develop in their important stage of life. From another prospective, to make the accordant requirement on courses is more convenient for the high school to be managed.

Satisfied with these benefits above, we should also pay more attention for the disadvantages coming from that enforced way. First is that those professors in education have been customed to fixed courses and are lazy to discover newer and more effective teaching method. Meanwhile ,the teachers are unnecessary to prepare their classes time and time so that they have no motivation to improve themselves. Secondly, under this situation, the high school students would also be tired of confirmed textbook and become boring and collide to studying because the disappointing courses make them sleep without any interests.

Another advantage to allow the students to choose the courses freely is that this way will make the study more effective. We have the common sense that the study is more effective and gain a better result if we study our interested subjects because we enjoy it and is difficult to feel tired even though we keep on studying for a long time. Similarly, if the students in high school could study the courses according to their thoughts, the final result would be better than it while we compel them to study. What is more, to let the students make decisions by themselves would save their time to develop them. They could focus on one or two special subjects and study deeply in order to they are well prepared for the future research in the university. Those are more important aspects we should take into consideration.

To sum up, from what has been discussed above, I think the students in high school should have right to choose the courses they are interested and give them room to develop freely and fully.
