With the trend of globalization, culture invasion happens in many aspects of our life, causing dominant culture prevails and vulnerable culture wanes. For instance, many of the world' lesser-known language are being lost. As for the debate of the protection of the lesser-known language, I agree in that the distinct lesser-known language should not be abandoned and should be protect from being lost. At some point, the action of protection should give way to the realistic consideration.
There are many reasons for the lost of a language. As the extension of people's communication, the language barrier is the first difficulty they have to overcome when two guys using different language desire to communicate with each other. So the industrilization and modernization make the common used language more widely used. Moreover, the extinction of the lesser -known language is also caused by hitory and migration. In history, some countries were colonized by powerful countries. The culture of the colonized countries were influenced including language. This caused the lost of some lesser-used dialects. Furthermore, the language might disappear with the migration of the people who could use it.
As someone once said, where there is a different language, there is a unigue culture. The language contains the the history and essence of one culture. The lost of one language cause the lost of the culture which is a precious wealth inherited from the forebears. Also, the study of the the language can let us further know the history of a nation. When the language confront with the crisis of extinction, it’s necessary for the government to take some actions to preserve some of the lesser-known languages. The government could encourage the indigenous people use their own languages as well as the official language. The government could also establish special schools or course for the lesser-known language studying. These are the methods which won’t prevent the extincting of one language. The best way to protect a language is to provide money for scolars

researching it and perserve it in the archives.

However, the extinction of the lesser-known language is inevitable as the development. Language is like all the other objects that has its beginning, developing, flourishing, and ending. When a language is not suitable for the everyday use, it loses the main significance of exsitence. Just like the rules in nature, the fittest survive. The language is in danger of extinction proves that the language isn’t suitable for the trend of the social development. And in history, when the new land was discovered, English was spread to many parts of the world accompanied with the colonization and aborininal language disapeared. The English speakers broght the indigenous people not only the language but also the advanced technology which make the indigenous people’s life convenient. Moreover, language barriers breed misunderstanding, discord and even war among nations. If different countries could understand each other easily, the world would become peaceful. Eliminating gulf of nations begins with understanding its culture though its language. Furthermore, the protection of a lesser-known language will demand the government devote time, manpower, financial support on it. The cost is high if the government handle it effectively and propelly and it may become a heavy burden for the government. In this situation, the government would pay attention on solving the problems of hungry, proverty, diasters and plague rather than protecting the lesser-known language.
In conclusion, as the heritage of the antecessors, the language is a bridge connecting nowadays and the past time. Whereas, the language differences also causes languages barriers and misunderstandings and conflictions among nations. The government should balance the pros and cons to decide whether to protect the less-known language or not.
