有好多都是扒下来的 惭愧啊 还是借鉴了前辈的破题思路。。。


131 "The arts (painting, music, literature, etc.) reveal the otherwise hidden ideas and impulses of a society."  
艺术（绘画、音乐、文学等）展现了那些隐藏的其他方面的社会观点和社会的脉动。
理解：艺术展现社会隐藏的观点和脉动
TS 不仅展现隐藏的 有的展现了艺术家自己的思想 以及社会的常识
1  因为很多艺术品，都是以现实社会作为背景，加上必要的艺术表现方式制成的，所以自然里面反映了很
多社会的现实东西。
(1) Why a society or people may hide some ideas and impulses:
(a) Lack of democracy in a society
(b) Some ideas or feelings are so abstract and delicate to express explicitly.
(2) They call for the emergence of arts.
(3) How arts could reveal these otherwise hidden ideas.
   (a) The imagination of life in the future: like the science fiction of Vernean
   (b) The depiction of real life through imaginary way.
   (c) Expression of personal feelings
比如Stowe的Uncle Tom’s cabin 就是反映了那时候黑人奴隶的生活现状，但是表现出一种希望，一种对自由的渴
望，最后引发了南北战争civil war，并且得到Lincoln 的支持 ，这本书对整个美国的历史发展都产生了重大影响。
再如，雨果的《巴黎圣母院》中体会15世纪光怪陆离的巴黎生活；Beethoven’s 《Fur ELISE》《THE FATE》激
荡人们心灵，释放压力。
2. 很多艺术作品，能表现当时社会的主导思想，特别是建筑物。
埃及Egypt的金字塔pyramid ,里面每个通口都是对着天空，表示当时人们对神灵deity的敬畏，以及死后灵魂可以升
天的愿望. 中国的园林表现人与自然和谐发展。而近代的各种Skyscraper 则表现一种统一的美，每个个体都被忽略
，共同来组成了一个大的整体的美，这跟工业革命以后社会化大生产的精神是一致的。large-scale socialized

3. 但有些艺术作品并没有像反映社会as the speaker asserts. 有些作品是以风景，动物等为主题的，很难想
象从这些作品中能看出些社会现象？如齐白石的虾，徐悲鸿的马，对动物的描绘栩栩如生，艺术价值很高，但仅

End: To summarize the issue, though the speaker’s assertion may have merit, in my opinion, it unfairly generalizes
about art. 在欣赏艺术作品时，we should notice the hidden ideas and impulses of a society revealed by them; at the
same time, we should not lose our sight of the creativity and personal charm of the artist.

(1) Civilization: an advanced state of intellectual, cultural, and material development in human society, marked
by progress in the arts and sciences, the extensive use of writing, and the appearance of complex political and social
institutions.
(2) In this case, the true value of a civilization is reflected in both its artistic creastions and its scientific
accomplishments.
(a) The cultural development: artists.
(b) The material development: scientists.
(c) The political and social institutions: politics and sociologists.

uses of such money."   当人们挨饿、失业或者缺少维持生活最基本的技能时，用来支持艺术的公众资源就显得很
不合适了，或者更残忍一些，还有人妄图独吞这些资金。
理解：困难时期 不应该要艺术 因为人们在此时期有生活基本困难没解决
TS 不同意  让步 困难时期确实应该先解决民生问题 但艺术它在这个时候也不能缺少，有它不可磨灭的作用
(1) Admittedly, arts could not serve as job, bread, or milk, which are the necessities of those who are hungry,
out of work, or lack the basic skills needed to survive.
(2) However, that does not mean arts have no significance; rather, their significance could best be displayed at
this period of time
(a) The spiritual power to ignite the will to survive, to overcome the obstacles, and the eagerness to persist.
(b) Providing these is definitely more important than to provide them what they need.
(c) Stimulate the development of economic and thus help solve the problems of unemployment.
