It is true that there is no purely objective observation, and neither purely subjective observation. But there is a standard of objective observations. Subjectivity is correlated to objectivity in observations. When one goes down, the other rises. What we're trying to do is to minimize the subjective part and subsequently to approach the final destination of truth.

It is almost impossible for people to apart their value, experience, expectation, and desires from their observation to something. Some scientists would purposely choose the experiment results benefiting his assumption and ignore the other ones, which depart from his goal. Such scientists are morally and scientifically unprincipled. As we know, a bad first impression is difficult to be turned back because whenever people think of you, the bad impression comes first. You will be labeled with the bad impression, unless you make significant achievements, either morally or physically. All in all, it's impossible, at least until now, for people to research or judge others without subjectivity, no matter how slight it is.

No purely objective observations can be found on earth, however, there is objectivity existing and therefore a standard of objective observations. So, what is this standard? I think, an observation is objective only when we demise the subjective part as much as we can. There is a correlation between subjectivity and objectivity, and the way we treat things determines which part dominates the observations we have. In Geodesy, when measuring the distance, it is ruled that surveyor should measure the same distance several times, rule out the inaccurate results and average the surviving ones. However, when subjectivity dominates the measurement, students tend to make the first data neared by following ones and subsequently a subjective work done. Along the development of science, we are becoming more and more objective to understand the universe. In time of Aristotle, people think that earth is the core of universe and all the planets and stars regularly move around it. However, the universe is always the same as it stands. This is true as a objective fact. Fortunately, as the science developed, people realize that earth is only a planet which is not even the centre of solar system, not to mention the universe. Therefore, as long as we are on the paths to the truth, we're approaching the destination of purely objective observations.

Some may think that there is no such "standard of objective observations". If there is not, people would never agree with each other because they are all holding their opinions and fight for their own positions forever. All the achievements achieved by our forebears would mean nothing but some subjective personal thoughts or experience. No agreement would be reached. Imagine this, people who are more cautious think that speed limits should be designed to prevent accidents, but people who are interested in exciting car racing may blackmail the speed limits vote. Even if all people agree that speed limits should be arranged, different people have different opinions on the limiting number. Young people may vote for 60 miles per hour, while elders would like to drive at 30. In this case, objectivity plays the role of calculating the ideal speed limit number which balances the two groups of people. From this perspective, standard of objective observations exists and is effectively bettering our lives.

To sum up, purely objective observation does not exist, but observation should be objective. As subjectivity and objectivity is correlated with each other, we should suppress the subjective side of observations and therefore find the truth.

这个例子感觉有些不恰当，本段主题是there should be standard of objective observations， 但是例子是一个关于时速限定的投票，不能说明问题吧。改成能说明如果没有客观标准，许多事情的认识无法被统一，科学将荡然无存。比如没有度量单位的原始社会，由于没有客观标准，生产力水平很低下。个人看法。。。。
