50"In order to improve the quality of instruction at the college and university level, all faculty should be required to spend time working outside the academic world in professions relevant to the courses they teach."
为了提高大学的授课质量,全体员工应该花时间钻研所教课程相关的学术界外的方面。

Attitudes: 基本肯定
A. 大学的最终目标是为社会培养人才,提供生产力,大学教学强调的应是知识与实践的结合。
B. 教师从事相关研究,有利于带给学生最新科研成果,改进教学方法
C. 但并非每一科的老师都能这么做

Issue 50
When the time ran into the century of 21st, education was becoming increasingly important, especially the university education. Every year, millions of university graduates devote themselves into nearly ever parts of society, directly boost the development of our world. As a result ,more and more concern is being focused on the quality of university education. More and more suggestions raise, including the one mentioned in the argument: all faculty should be asked to work in professions relevant to their teaching course outside te academic world. Absolutely ,this suggestion is worthy of accepting, though it seems to be a bit unrealistic in some aspects.

We must emphasize the importance of university education. The aims of setting up a university varies when taking different aspects into consider. To every student. The university is a place for further study and a better future. To professors, the university is an ideal place for researching. But, when it comes to the whole society, as we know, university can be regarded as the engine of the development of the society. Thousands of students graduate from university every year, after which they take different jobs in every respect of the society, using their knowledge learned during university time to create wealth and push the society forward. Only when the educational quality is guaranteed can the development keeps a high rate for a long time.
However, among all the aspects in university education, what is most important turns out to be the combination between knowledge and practice. University students learn a lot in their college time indeed, but without the ability to put the knowledge into practicing, all the studying time would just be waste. Several years ago, as one newspaper reported, a graduate from a famous university in mainland China went to sell pork after graduation, though the student majors economy in his university. The lack of such ability has knolled the alert. If universities are willing to send their teachers to the professions relevant to the course they teach, it will be obvious for their students to benefit from this action, for the work enables teachers to get a brand new vision to the up-to-date situation of the course and recent needs in relevant industry from society. The teacher will also be offered with a lot of exercitation opportunities in which his/her students can take part.

Meanwhile, the work outside academic world also trains the teacher in many other ways. He or she will be able to develop a new perspective, which makes it possible for the teacher to create a more efficient way of teaching. The teacher will also bring the most up-to-date progress to students, which certainly broaden their vision and inspire their interest for further study.
However, the plan may seem to be hard to be carried out in some disciplines such as mathematics, history, etc. Math, as we know, is known as an highly abstract discipline. It is hard for Maths teacher to combine their teaching with relevant professional fields. The same condition happens in history, for the history researcher usually works in library and relics. To use thir knowledge in practise is a challenge for both teacher and students who major in history.

In sum, the proposal raised in the argument is worthy of being appreciated. We can expect a marked improvement in the quality of instruction at the college and university level. Most students will benefit from this proposal enjoying a strengthened competence in job market. However, several disciplines should find their own way to serve the same purpose, for the action seems to be hard when carried out.

More and more 你算是触雷了。。。我对这个词组最为反胃。。我曾经发誓再也不用。。a growing numble of ...a rising poplulation.. a prevailing tendency...还有更好的,慢慢积累吧。。。当然,或许你的想法是对了对仗,但是issue毕竟不是写演讲稿 suggestions raise, including the one mentioned in the argument: 好吧,我才疏学浅,没见过用这个符号表示解释的,当然,要是真有的话支我声,算是受教了。。。“-”比较常用all faculty should be asked to work in professions relevant to their teaching course outside te academic world. 我很奇怪有些同学的文章把学术界划分在理论和实践中,我也不是很清楚这样算不算是走题。academic 绝对没有仅仅指理论的含义,金山词霸这样翻译是误人子弟,这一点上查一下维基百科或是英汉字典就明白(看英文的解释)
