The speaker claim that education can be truly effective only the time it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each students. I concede that the efficiency of education can be improved, for that individual interests and needs can help a person to focus an devote more time. Yet, education should be designed to meet the needs of the sociaty and the needs of individual.

It is true that the personal interests and needs can improve the efficiency of education. As the prominent physician Albert Einstein once said: the interest is the best teacher. Interests can help us to focus and less time will be spent to wandering or have a day dreaming, therefore, we can spent less time acquiring the same amount of knowledge. Moreover, people are more willing to devote more time to what he interested some people who go deep into his working forgets to eat or even works day and night. Moreover, if a person does something that he is not willing to, many excuse will be used to prolong the time, finally, more time is needed to complete the work.


However, the idea to satisfy the individual needs and interests of each student are not practical. Different people have different interests, some interest will be difficult to meet, and some will be useless to the society. provided a student`s interests is the nucleus weapons, will the school provide teacher to open a course for him or establish a special laboratory for research? if a students want collect stamps, will this kind of interest have anything to do with the need of sociaty? obviously, the idea to enable the education specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests are not practice and cannot satisfied the needs of the society.

Moreover, the courses about the basic knowledge are essential. It not only taught us some basic knowledge and skills, but also the way we think-how to analysis and where to start to settle a problem. what`s more, the basic knowledge and skill are very important and can be helpfull no matter what our interest is. a person who know nothing about geography cannot understand the map, and can easily get strayed, a man who know little about literature will not able to express his idea clearly, and thus will be more likely to be misunderstand by others.

in sum, the idea of refresh our current education system to satisfy every needs and interests of each student are compelling, yet it is not very practical, because some interests can hardly be satisfied and some are not useful to our society.
