103"The study of history has value only to the extent that it is relevant to our daily lives.”

As a matter of fact, the issue of whether the study of history has value only to the extent that it is relevant to our daily lives is a complex and controversial one. On the one hand, many people may feel that only the history on daily lives is meaningful, and correspondingly admit that the study of history has value only to the extent that it is relevant to our daily lives; on the other hand, it can be noted that history which is nothing to do with others is also of great significance. There is no universal answer to this question; so various kinds of people can hold conflicting opinions due to their distinct backgrounds and values. As far as I am concerned, I completely disagree with the author. My view can be greatly substantiated by the reasons addressed below.

Admittedly, the study of history is closely related to our daily lives. When we were young, we made a lot of mistakes. Researchers say that we can change our characters and hobbies by means of reversing our acts in childhood. In other words, we can conclude some experience and lessons through our past lives to change ourselves, which means that the study of history has value to the extent that it is relevant to our daily lives. However, study history on other fields is also very essential.

Study history on science is very useful and valuable. There is no doubt that science and technology are the mainly factors of development of the society. Scientists will hardly succeed unless he refers the history of the science. For example, Marie Curie is a famous female scientist. She studied the history of the phenomenon of radioactive in her lives and finally she reached her goal. She found two kinds of radioactive elements and won the Nobel Prize. She couldn’t get the prize without studying the history of the science. Let’s take another example to illustrate this point. Since Newton is known to all, almost every physician has used Newton’s theorems and his formula. Research is a cyclic procedure and it needs much experience, therefore, it is necessary to study the history of science.

Not only do history on science has value in our lives, history on art is also valuable to us. Artists in modern society imitate Da Vinci’s painting in order to learn a lot from his painting ideas. With the development of the society, art can represent the comprehensive quality of a country and is the spiritual wealth of people in the nation. Or, as another example, Beethoven has made great progress in the music field. In his late years, he became deaf. Fortunately, he did not give up living or creating music. He learned from those who are successful in their lives and he made a miracle eventually. What I have said above has sufficiently proved that the study of history on art is relevant to our daily lives.

Finally, study literature history has a far-reaching impact on every one of us. In my observation, it can increase the knowledge of history and help us to improve our writing ability. Like many ordinary children, I like Shakespeare’s work. The merchant of Venice is one of the representative works of Shakespeare. I learned his writing skills everyday, and has a breakthrough in my writing.


To sum up, there are still several other aspects relevant to the issue under discussion, which, unfortunately, I have no time to explore in detail here. But the above discussed reasons should in a large sense justify my conclusion that the study of history has value to the extent that it is relevant to our daily lives as well as to other aspects.

贝多芬的例子突然到段落总结缺乏逻辑连接，没有和题目挂钩。虽然勉强可以和前面的represent the comprehensive quality of a country and is the spiritual wealth of people in the nation相关，也过于牵强。是贝多芬受到历史的好处？还是人们学习贝多芬的历史得到好处？到底是什么好处？

这段和上面一段其实可以合起来，都是文艺方面。这个不算历史吧，有点扩大范围，至少要引申一下说历史遗留下来的文化遗产，不能直接说文学的帮助。
