Enjoying the acurate and convincing record provided by video camera, some people suppose that it really threatens the importance of written records. However, considering the advantages of both media, this conculsion may come to be futile.

Video camera implemented us with a world of detailed and acurate vision. Equipped with a mass memory card in it, vedio camera can record every detail of our life in our will, while written documents are conducted by human's minds that something trivial and trifling may be inevitably neglected and forgotten to some extend. Just like in history books, we can read the time and place of the event, however, it is impossible to know every countenance of people. It is the distinguish
advantage of video that written ones cannot compare.

The world of the video camera is more objective. as it is just the real record of the real life, without any embellishment. while written documentation is the catharsis of individual's personal emotion, it appears more subjective than the video ones. Let’s take an example of the documentation of Pinguin, which factually record the daily life of the pinguin we have never seen with our own eyes. While reading the books of this kind, the author will more or less add some private feelings into it as it is the observation of his own..

Undoubtly it is the written documentation frequently leads us direct to the important point which video fails to reach. Video displays us the information without filtration, that is to say, the mass information we are confronted with just play in a smooth way, there is no inclination to the empfasis, just a pouring of information, it is common to see that people feel dizzy and perplexed even after the whole performance of the video. In the written ones, we can gloss over the title and few chapters of the book to perceive a general idea of the book and then make the final decision of which information of the book fits our demand.

Generally speaking also the content of the written document has a more porfound and exquisite bearing. While reading every word in the book, we will try to conjecture the purpose and true feeling of the author. Word has a magical power of guiding readers so step in any imaginary fields conceived in one’s own mind. “There are thousands of Hemlet in thousands of readers mind”. Truly, owing to distinct inner world and dissimilar level of education of every people, the free kingdom of fancy differ from one another. This is a realm without any restriction, this is a territory of one’s own.

On balance, the combination application of both video and written words can bring about a more deep-felt and unbias vision. The document of Nanjing Massacre firstly comes into my mind. It is the
perfect combination of the video and written segment. This work is a record of the sin committed by Japanese in 1937. The bloody scence has clearly recorded, with the painful recollection of the victims, every people are shocked by the brutal commitment of the criminals. Ponderous history are recorded.

In conclusion, we are indeed facilitated by the applying of camera, its acurate and objective character seems provide a more convincing world than before. Whereas, there are some other aspects this high0tech products cannot substitute. Both of them run their own track respectively to serve the human life.
