Should governments focus more on solving the present immediate problems rather than future's anticipated problems? Admittedly, there are many urgent problems we have to solve now like the starvation, illness and so on. However, governments' liability is to look at things broader and further, thus the anticipated problems of the future can not be omitted.
To begin with, some problems that threatening people's lives are deemed to be solved as soon as possible so that the governments should pay enough attention on it. For instance, in Brazil, a large amount of people are suffered from the starvation, infectious diseases, contagious water and so on. In this certain situation, the government should put people's life and health first and focus as much attention as they could on solving these problems. While some other countries or regions like the Sumgayit, it has more than 40 factories and is used to be the former Soviet's industry centre, these factories once set a record of the issue of radiation infectant amount to 120,000 tons per year. The dwellers there are much more likely to be suffered from cancers. In this particular situation, the government should take actions to solve the problems in order to prevent the more severely losses. Such urgent problems today should be paid much attention to by the government.
From another perspective, we know about governments' duties like seeing things more profoundly and further than any other people reflect that the government should not see things provincially. In this way, the government should also take the anticipated problems of the future in to account. Things like wars, environment pollution, some stubborn diseases like cancer, AIDS and so on are long standing problems. Take war as an example, if the countries can not deal well with other countries there is no question that the war will break up one day. We all know what the war will bring us, like the World War,
the people , the buildings, almost all the things will be endangered, at that time there will not be merely starvation, illness, the last things people are depend on are broken up--their expectations of the government, their hopes for a better future--are all gone with the war. The pollution, also bring the world like O-zone holes, which brings more UV--a inducer of skin cancer, a danger to eyesight and so on to the world. The desertification makes more places become deserts. If problems like these can not be solved by the government, the earth will be facing with the deaths soon.
At last, the government should be responsible, weigh the advantages and disadvantages carefully to find a proper answer to these problems, no matter immediate problems or anticipated problems. Things may be different in different regions in the world and some problems can be urgent that can not be missed, at this time, it is the government who should make a balance and give the country confidence as well as guidance.
To sum up, based on the governments' duties, they should not solve things like just a person or small group, they represent the whole country's benefits and they must guarantee their residents' survival as well as the whole country. All in all, government should focus on solving the immediate problems as well as anticipated problems, moreover, government know which problems to settle firs |
