In this argument,the arguer concludes that dentists should target the male consumer according to statistics collected from dentists proving men are more likely to be distressed about having dental work done than women are.Actually,there is some flaws in logical.
Firstly,the arguer doesn't prove the preciseness of the statistics form the dentists.How large is the statistcs?Does it contain all the patients?Does it collect all over the dentists? Neither these question is mentioned in this argument,so the statistcs is inconvincing.
Moreover,even three times more men than women faint while visiting the dentist,it still can not prove that men are more likely to be distressed about having dental work done than women are.It is possible that women are distressed about having dental work ,but they put out the bad feeling though shouting and crying.In some degree,it may release the nervous of the patients,so the women patient will not faint so easily.
Finally,when a patient have dental work,the most techniques they paid attention will be the techniques in curing,not only the anesthetic techniques as the passage states.And although the dentists are sensitivity nervous or suffering patients,that is not enough.More patience and carefulness are needed for a dentist.
Therefore, the argument should bring more envidence to support the claim that men are more likely to be distressed about having dental work done than women are.Thorough proofs may be showed to what the urge need of the patient.
