Clearview seems to be the best choice place to retire since it has the spectacular natural beauty and consistent climate, lower housing costs and estate taxes, potential wonderful public services and great number of physicians. It appears to be tempting and convictive at first glance, however, I am afraid it suffers from several critical fallacies.

The first vital flaw in this argument is that the author take the housing costs which fell significantly an appealing evidence to support the conclusion, however this fact lends little support to the claim. The author presents little information with regarding to the current housing costs in Clearview. It is highly likely that the housing costs there is still too high for elderly people to afford. What is more, why did the housing costs decrease during the past year? It might be the fact that economic became depressed in Clearview, which might result in the unstable society. If this is the case, Clearview turns out to be not the good place to live in.

Another essential issue in the argument is concerning the mayor’s promises about many new programs to improve schools, streets and public services. Confessedly it is good news for people living there, nonetheless it will be a quite long time before all the promises are acted out and put into practice. Considering these factors, those who are seeking a place to retire might choose other places with all-ready public services.

Furthermore, the arguer assumes that the great number of physicians is the factor that can attract people to go to retire in Clearview. But we have no idea about the number of residents in Clearview. It is most possible that the number of residents there are much more than that of other areas so that the physicians are still deficient. Besides, the technical level of the physician is also unknown, which is a vital ingredient of good health care condition.

On balance, the conclution that Clearview is the top choice for people to retire comes out to be groundless. To strengthen this assertion, the arguer should present more evidence in regard to the current condition in Clearview is suitable for elderly people to live there.
