Long vacation each year provide students long enough time to conduct whatever they like, where as short vacation furnish them frequent rest from the stressful study period in school. Which is the best style for students’ development? Different people have different preference. I , a university student, strongly claim that long vacation benefits a lot more to students than short one. Why do I say so?

The major reason of my penchant for long vacation each year lies in that students would be able to improve their ability, develop their own interest and broaden their knowledge horizon during the long vacation. Ability and interest as well as knowledge are not built up in a day but require adequate time and energy input. Case in point, students can take up a job related to their own major during the long vacation. They can only appreciate the value and spirit of that certain job step by step but not in a day or weekend. Through this long term period, ability accumulates day after day. Therefore the experience would be more impressive than short term ones. The same are to their interest and knowledge. If they plan a long term trip during vacation, their knowledge horizon is broadened from place to place. Given enough time to digest and compare, they can thoroughly grasp what they have learn from the trip. Obviously, the long vacation is beneficial to students eager to learn and pursue their interest.

Another factor contributing to my propensity is that long vacation also attributes the development of the society in addition to students themselves. As students apply a job during vacation, they supply valuable labors and skills to society. While they travel around the country, they add to the economy growth of tourism at the same time. What if the vacation is long enough for them to earn money to sustain their long term trip? It is no doubt double benefits both to society and students.

Admittedly, short vacations give students frequent rest during the hard work period in school, help them refresh again and adjust their mood. Yet, with so many interruption from study process, it is hard for all students, be they in preliminary schools, high schools or universities, to concentrate on their study after enjoying a pleased but ephemeral vacation.

All in all, long vacation not only brings advantage to students to improve their ability and knowledge, but also force the economy growth of the society. It is sound and reasonable to adopt long vacation system despite certain merits of the short vacation carries.

only 感觉不需要   还有weekend前加一个a  感觉对称一点，这一点可能是个人喜好

eager是adj是否不对，这句的意思有点让人迷糊
是否是 the long vacation is beneficial to what students are eager to

It is no doubt double benefits both to society and students.
这个句子读起来的意思是对society and students的好处都要加倍，我向作者的意思是要表示对society and students都有好处

综合来说两句：作者的用词特别是用动词感觉非常不错，文章结构也很好
第二个观点force the economy growth of the society好像不是很能区别long vacation和
short vacation  其实这样的道理或许我们能明白，但用英文表达清楚确实有难度
