Knowledge, in my opinion can help us to comprehend things; therefore, as we acquire more knowledge, things become more comprehensible. However, knowledge can't make things simple and less mysterious; in the contrast, more knowledge on things will lead to a full understanding of the things’ complex and mysteries.
Knowledge, in itself, is acquired in the process of comprehending things; as the product of the process, knowledge itself does make us comprehend things better than before. Just as considering lighting and thundering, the sign of raining. Without knowledge on weather and physics, we can‘t comprehend how they could generate and why we always heard the sound of thunders first. Before we have a litter knowledge on natural disaster such as floods and earthquakes, we may not know how these could happen and guess they may be the signs that gods want to warn or punish us because human beings do something wrong. But with modern knowledge of geography, we can comprehend why there are floods and earthquakes, and even know their activities some laws that could be utilized by us to help human to resist the harmful result of natural disastrous. In a word, knowledge makes us have a better comprehension to things of the world.
However, when we acquire more knowledge, it only make us full realize the complex of things. Take the price as example, if we just acquire some basic knowledge of economics, we will be told that demand and supply decides the price of something for sale, but with more knowledge acquired, we will realize the truth is far more complex: the value of goods, the policy of the government and so on could also affect the price too; price is determined in a very complex way. Moreover, what is demand and supply, how are they are detected by the people in trade? We shall see a complex web of knowledge that without enough knowledge we shall not know. Other fields have a similar situation too. When we are in middle school, we just get basic knowledge of many things, we may think although something we don't know, things are relative simple to understand, but after us entering a specific field of our major, we can see a simple concept in the past now needs a large book to explain, and a subject which we just could grasp its principles by learn a few chapters has thousands of documents on it. Rather than simple, more knowledge lead us to see the complex of things, while things itself always are complex.  
Knowledge, in someway could solve some problems that we want to know and seems by this way it make things less mystery, however, it in sometimes introduce more problems than it has solved. People can’t be sure where new life could come from, may be could come from some kinds of non-life forms such as rotten organisms, but knowledge of biology tell us that life only can come from fertilized eggs which generate by living organisms. Does this answer make life less mysterious? No, then we begin to be astonished by how a single cell could develop to an organism as complex as human and the complex process of a cell developing to a whole organism makes life just as mysterious as before. Similarly, other field also like the Knowledge of life, as one problem has been solved, other problems follows the heel, and things always attract people to explore their mysteries.
In summary, as we acquire more knowledge, we comprehend the things better, but a better understanding of the unknown Knowledge of things makes things seems more complex and mysterious, with things themselves always complex and mysterious.
