"How children are socializedtoday determines the destiny of society. Unfortunately, we have not yet learnedhow to raise children who can help bring about a better society."

The author asserts that the socializationof children decides the destiny of society and claims a broader idea that nowadayseducation is not effective enough to raise children who can help bring about abetter society. In my view, I also think our education has certain deficientto raise children, but I take exception with the claim that only the socializationof children can determine the destiny of our society.

Admittedly, a good process of children's socializationhelps give the children certain abilities which are needed to build a betterworld. One well socialized person have the abilities to rasp the informal rulesfor each setting and manage themselves accordingly which make the world processmore productively. Given self-awareness and basic social skills to build stablerelationship with others, they can negotiate, bargain, cajole, compromise, andredirect conflict—such as through humors which make our world moreharmonious.  Moral development andaltruistic behavior—behavior performed for the benefit of others withoutexpectation of a reward that they have help us to have a better world. All theabilities make them calibrate their behavior to the expectations of others ineach setting and make the world more productive, harmonious, and nice.

However, only a good socialization isinsufficient to determine the future of our society, children should also havethe intelligence，the ability of independent thinking and courage. In any period, itis the intelligence and critical thinking not socialization and sophisticatesthat promote and solidify the quick development of our world. For example, thepeople without the intelligence and Initiative Spirit， people would not have a easy and rich life --- abundant food,cozy department, convenient transportation and communication, but only thehunting or nomadic life. And in the extreme situationlike the WWII, before the fierce assault of Nazis, had the people around theworld failed to show the perseverance and courage todefend the fierce assault of enemies, people would no longer live in a peacefuland rich world, but only the persecution and slaughter of the Fascism. All these characteristics madethe development of human being possible and, in my view, they will be the mostimportant valuable qualities to determine the future of our world.


When to the second claim of the author, Iagree with the author that education in our society is not effective to raiseour children who can help bring about a better society; I argue that educationwill be truly effective only when it is specifically designed to meet the individualneeds and interests of each student. When students go to college or highereducation and need a skill or knowledge to promote the development of society,education should give sufficient freedom to student and let them to choosetheir majors by their specifically interests and needs in that dedication totheir favorite work can make more productive to help to build better world. Forexample, Murdock, who is named “Media Tycoon”, as I know he love read newspaperand want issue his own paper since he was a kid. After years hard working inthe media, he have large proportion of circulation of newspaper and goodaudience rating in his television station in Australia, Britain, American andAsia.  His interest in his work let hiseasier to fulfill his childhood dream and enhance the flourish of media in theworld.

Thus, I concede that the socialization ofchildren can make our world continual flourish, but it is the most importantfactor to determine our society’s future. I agree that the deficient of oureducation deed exist and we should give more attention to our children’sinterest which because interest oriented education is more effective to buildour world.
