提纲:
B1 传统与现代在很多领域是相辅相成,不可或缺的
B2 当然,在某些方面,现代也要与传统观念分清
B3 我认为,以建筑学为例,没有必要一定要在二者择其一
Is it necessery indeed to choose between tradition and modernization, as the speaker claims? As I see it, we don't need to draw such a clear division between them. In this era of rapid changing social and variety kinds of factors leading to increasing life complexity and psychological displacement, both traditional and modern things and thoughts in modern society call for a balance in which there are both two aspects exist.
As a matter of fact, modernization is developed on the foundation of tradition in many aspects. With the fast progress of whole society and civilization of human-being, traditional concepts are being inherited, developed and changed. Thus, we form and hold our modern concepts now, which spring from tradition and are surely indespensable to tradition. For instance, colourful national cultures, decended from ancestors and passed down by numberous generations, are precious wealth of nation. Even now, these valuable cultural heritage have reflect on modernists deeply and melt into their daily notions. Moreover, take a look at the history of languages. In spite of many words are created in modern world, english languages are ultimately inherit from ancient Greek and Latin languages. Thus, no one can asserts tradition and moderniation are totally incompatible.
However, I concede that, in some field, the features between these two different abstract concepts lead to a crystallized distinction, especially in some variation sides. Take popular pop music for example. As one of the most fashional parts in artistic world, getting rid of stale and bringing forth the fresh is its living standard. At this time, we can not put even a little connection to traditional music. That's out of date, and deathful to pop music.
Admittly, I hold the faith that, in certain instances, tradition must entirely break away from modern life. It is true when it comes to sepecal field such as architecture. When an old builded bridge's value only restricted to just for view and admire, but the place it stand we can used for building a more useful structure, we may ignore its traditional value to satisfy the basic need of modern life. However, in other cases, historical buildings can prove lots of valuable information about old concepts of architerctonics. Thus, even in architecture, tradition and modernization are not necessarily exclusive options.
In sum, it is no need to distinguish from tradition and modernization for the chief reason that, in many aspects, these two fields are indispensable to each other, though tradition may yeild entirely to the need of life nowadays in other fields.
