Do scandals really make us focus on some problems as the author asserts? I believe we should carefully examine the assertion on a case-by-case basis.
We can not deny that in some cases scandals are really useful for calling our attention on problems. As we are now in the 21st century, we are facing the explosion of information. Hundreds of thousands of news are shown in the newspaper, let along the internet, how can we audience tell apart which news is worth paying much attention? Only the very sensational news, for example the scandals, could get enough attention. No other examples can better illustrate the importance of scandals than the Watergate scandal. The impeachment of Nixon changes the history of the Unite States as well as makes the public realize how harmful the political abuse can be. Thanks to the Watergate scandal, many indispensable laws and regulations are launched which highly avoid the abuse of political power.
However, in other cases, scandals drive our attention to some things that is not worth mentioning or not beneficial to the society. Not all the scandals are worth paying attention, many of them are very entertaining or sensational, but they are only related to some personal problems rather than the interests of the public. The mediums nowadays are always interested in the scandals of pop stars, models and basketball players, they reported in great details how they are caught by the police, how they date a beautiful woman and so on. These scandals will never reveal any critical problems, so the systematical problems can never be discovered and dealt with.
Moreover, in order to attract audience, the mediums spare no effort to report more scandals, or even fabricate one. Publics’ attentions are successfully focused but what they focus on is something that does not exists. When the public are fooled for too many times, it can be hardly averted that the medium or a scandal be never trusted by the public.
All in all, face the real and important scandals with brave, neglect the insignificant and fake scandals with denounce, find out the problems exist in any system, the society and the public will be benefited.

Scandals can clearly show us the hidden unreasonable and unjust regulations, therefore administers or the public can adjust or even correct those errors. After the Watergate Event, not only President Nixon lost his job, but further influence was conducted by the public and medium. They realized that the problem of the abuse of power which was neglected in the past. As a result, a closer scrutiny upon the high officials of government prevents them from abusing their power any longer. Recently, the filthy relationship between Juventus Club and several references was publicized by medium, which shocked the football circle by those large holes in the institutions of football league and thus forced the Italia Football Association to take actions towards Juventus, references and the ill institutions. While Juventus has been deprived the former championship, a series of more appropriate regulations have at last been added into the football systems. There is no denying that those scandals indeed prohibit the daily operations and developments of certain fields to some extent, but these deleterious effects can be temporary, if proper measures have been done immediately. Before their scandals have been known to the public, they are generally admired and trusted by their superiors and inferiors, as well as the medium and public. Therefore, it is difficult or even impossible for speakers and reformers to win the battle against those scandal makers and their inequitable laws or regulations without the support of anyone. No one believes or even pays attention on whatever the speakers and reformers assert, if the scandal makers are trying to cover up those events by their power and trust they gained at the same time. Consequently those errors remain forever. Once the secrets of the scandal makers give away, however, their aura fades, legends evaporate, so does the trust and power endued. Under such circumstances that all sides feel unsatisfied and disappointed, it is much easier for reformers to draw the focus on their ameliorative allegations towards the long existed problems, and thus, the improvements can be made. Perhaps it may be strange to accept the ironic conclusion that scandals do play a more vital role in healing the morbid system of a certain realm than those reformers do sometimes, but oftentimes it is scandal that helps the reformers a lot to strike their targets, which leads to a future primary achievements for society.
                                                                                                                                                                                            
Despite the forgoing contributions of scandals, they are not without its apparent problems. Hypersensitive worries may lead serious disorders or even disasters. As a result, the bothered officials or the stars can hardly utilize their full abilities to fulfill their tasks or jobs. Just to meet the curiosity of the public so that they can bolster their sales and profits, these mediums' detective behaviors will inevitably bring about disorders to those who in charge in some areas. Secondly, overstatements of the grave effects of scandals may shadow the contributions of the scandal makers unfairly. Although Clinton was accused by his rose event, his dedication towards the resuscitation and prosperity of America's economy during his term of office cannot be denied. Nowadays, with the development of information-high-way and the swift speed of transportation, it becomes more easy for media to spread the news. The newspaper and the radio is not the only way for people to get information from every corner of the world. TV and internet stepped into our eye-sight several decades ago and have already become popular and convenient way for people to understand the world. Scandals, always exposed by media, have some kinds of influences which can affect the judgment of civilian. In my view, it’s true that scandals can attract people’s attentions in a unexpected way that speakers and reformers cannot do because they have to take the responsibilities about what they said. However, the scandals also have its negative face that it may lead people go to extreme. Both the positive and negative faces of scandals should be seen by us.
   
In the first place, what we cannot ignores the effect of the media, which exist everywhere, with its function of spreading a large scale range, so is the scandals which disperse through media. By the means of a special method, scandals, sometimes, attract more eyes of the world than any other ways, such as speech, demonstrating and collection and help people through its positive effects. For instance, the sexual scandal of the former president of US, between Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky, caused a huge influence in the American society and had a immense effect on the political life of Bill Clinton which narrowly end his vocation of president. It’s so obvious for us to see the special and big ability of scandals. Another example is about the famous household Basketball Star---Michael Jordan. During a period of Jordan’s life, media exposed the hobby in gamble of him for not only one time and uncovered the extramarital love affair which he concealed for long to his wife. From such two example, we realize that scandals surely have a great effect and somehow can help people to examine their behaviors in private lives.

New York Times reported that the first lover of Hillary published a article telling that Hillary got a drug addiction when she studied in Yale as a student of law. It’s similar in the election of president in 2004, when the situation of election became excited, both the Republic Party and the Democratic Party came to create scandals to attack each other in order to win more voting paper. However, whether the scandals made by them were true or untrue is unknown. Therefore, when you look at the positive face of the scandals, have you ever thought about the degree of reality and the negative aspect of scandals?
            
Finally, through a exact and cogent eyes to look at the scandals is also indispensable for us. As it has two sides of influence, we should think carefully and thoughtfully before we give out our attitudes, when we are affected by scandals. Otherwise, it’s effect and our wrong attitudes based on the fault understanding of scandals may lead us to extreme conditions. For example, there are some endemic officials lived by government, sometimes receive bribery which are deprived from regional people.
