artistic work。没有artist就没有艺术可言，就不会有因艺术本身而激发的lasting

能起到filter的作用，让大众在有限时间领略到最有价值的work。

something of lasting value. In my view, the art works which contains lasting
value are created by the artist. However, who discovers, presents and conveys
the lasting value of these artistic works to us people? Critic is, I think.

To begin with, the creator of the art is just the artist who possesses
certain knowledge and outstanding endowment. With the special point of view
to the traget and his or her own studying in professional field, the art
integrates his or her konwledge, genius, inspiration, as well as a little
oppotunity, with the outside world to give birth to art work which embodys
something of lasting values. For instance, the English famous dramatist and
poet Shakespeare integrating his dower, knowledge, afflatus with his unique
insight to temporal society created some enduring composings like the tragedy
——"Hamlet" which contained something lasting values of its tragedy . That
is to say, there would be anyting but lasting values that is exploded from
art works without the artist.

Just like a undiscovery history site, the lasting values contained in works
which are created by the artist are only existent in the world but haven't
been presented to the masses. Therefore, how could the " history site " be
discovered? It is no other than the role of the critic who holds unique
insight in art and professional knowledge about appreciating art works. As
lots of us are laypersons who lack of appropriate and effective avenues to
taste the artist's emotion, viewpoint, behavior and so on through
appreciating an artistic work, the crict teach us how to appreciate an
artistic work to look into the surface of work itselt, find deeper meaning of
art rather than it's beautiful superficial. The "deeper meaning" that is
conveyed by critic to public is just the lasting values we are eager for.
Take the Van Gogh's "sunflower" for example, without the criticisms many of
us only pay attention to the apprearance and ignore the deeper intension of
it. In this way, the "sunflower" would loss its lasting values which are the
ultima purpose of Van Gogh.  

In additon, due to the differences of studying fields, the viewpoint and
themselves interests, it is all-pervading that artics may have dissimilar
kinds of statements and insights to one art work. This is so call a long-term
process of exploring the lasting values of art and promoting the development
of art.

Of course, the criticisms from the critic would become the feedback for the
artist. With the feedback the artist can review his or her work to find which
part needed to be modified and which part is merit that is worth to be
continue.

In sum, similar to a production which is produed through a series of
continuous working procedure, the lasting values in art cannot be presented
and conveyed by either the artist or the cricit. The artist and the critict
are just like twins who altogether post the lasting values to public and have
the art spirit and essential continuous generation and generation.
