In this issue, the speaker provided two conclusions, which, are the every individual in a society has a responsibility to obey just laws and, sounds more importantly, to disobey and resist unjust laws. From my personal angle, I will raise my hands up when facing the author's first assertion. However, for about resisting the unjust laws, I insist that the individuals must have a rational method to deal with them.
To begin with, admittedly, the just law prescribes the individuals' behaviors without which the society cannot properly organize. Taking the Traffic Law into account which prescribes that the divers must not drive the car after drinking wine. It will be a horrible screen if the drivers do not obey the law. And what is more, in many other fields it is the law that gives the society the properties such as the Corporation Law, Labor Law in companies, and the Marriage Law's important role in families. Thus, the individuals should follow the descriptions in the just law and to protect the society from any negative influence.
Not only does the just law significant to the society of a country, but also it plays a vital role in the globalization. There are also many International Laws which limit the every nation's activities. For instance, the Environmental Law made by the international organizations limits the country's amount of pollution every year in order to protect the whole world's environment. Therefore, not only should the individuals obey the laws, the every nation, as a member in the world, should also obey it.(这一点我觉得到是可以用一些国家不遵守京都协议来表达我们都应该遵守公正的法律)
On the other hand, what should we do if we encounter any unjust laws? Should we fight against them? My answer is yes, however, in a proper way. There will be a conflict when facing the unjust laws, our duty is not to motivate the conflict but to solve it in a peace(peaceful) way. As we all know, laws are set by the majority of people and represent the majority's rights.(在feudal society或是更早有很多法律不是大多数人制定的,而是minority的dominator制定的) Thus, there must be some of the unfair things to the minority and if they do not fight against the unjust law, it will lean to the opposite even more severely. For example, there was a period of time when it was legal for the white farm owners to have Blacks as their private slaves in America, which not only maintained the privilege of the whites but also severely offended the Blacks’ rights. Later the famous leader of the Civil Rights Movement, Martin Luther King, in his welcoming speech "I have a dream", he said that "I have a dream that one day my four children will live in a nation where they will not be judged by their color of skin but by the content of their character."If he did not disobey the unfair law to the Afro-Americans, maybe today they must seat at the back of the bus and be look down upon as before. (最后结束的太潦草了。应该总结下)
我觉得应该加上一段(然而真正判断是否公正是很难的,,来对主题进行一个深入的讨论。就是我们到底应该怎么做)。(个人观点)
To sum up, it is important for the society, even the whole world, to obey the just laws in order to limit our behaviors. What is more, when facing the unjust law, we should point it out and let the government know what exactly the fair is, but not to fight against it directly in that it will lead to no goods to both the society and us. |
