issue17 "There are two types of laws: just and unjust. Every individual in a society has a responsibility to obey just laws and, even more importantly, to disobey and resist unjust laws."

3．              需要承认， 对于明显可判别正义或非正义的法律，我们要按作者说的办。
The speaker’s assertion that we should follow just laws and resist unjust lows seems reasonable. Admittedly, there are some laws that we should obey, while some laws are not worthy of obedience. However, I cannot agree with the speaker’s simply dividing laws into just laws and unjust laws.

First, the laws are made by people who have their own position towards political. In order to achieve the purpose to get more supporters, they always make the laws according to the people’s sense of worth who always support them and the other people’s preference who take no sides in politic, therefore, in this situation, the laws have apparent orientation. For example, with the purpose of developing economic, the Republican Party may commit to pass a law which will decrease the taxation people are responsible to pay, while the Democrat may advise to raise the taxation. For the reason that the supporters of the Republican Party are mostly wealthy who have to face a great amount of taxation after accepting salaries and the Democrat’ supporters are always poorer people compared to the Republican Party’ supporter who need social welfare as their protection which comes from taxation. Basing on what we talked above, increasing taxation may be a just law to poor people; however, it would be considered as an unjust law to wealthy people.

Moreover, even though we admit that laws are made without orientation, the just character of laws may changes over times, because the recognition of people towards thing may change. In the 18th, the abortion in the Europe is a crime for the reason that people believes that the abortion amounts to murder a person. To avoid this tragedy, people make law to forbid abortion which is deemed as justice. However, today, with the respect to people’s situation they occupies such as a lady conceives because of violation or a lady who is not suitable for conceive because of her health, some countries concede the pregnant women have the right to abort their fetuses.  Admittedly, we have no right to force a lady to live in a bad memory or abandon her life; even though we think every fetus also have the right to see the world.

Admittedly, some laws are easy to judge they are just or unjust, especially those relate to some extreme situations. In this circumstance, we should follow the speaker’s instruction. For example, we fight against the crime of robbery, violation and staking, since that all of these crimes have two characters that they deeply hurt the victims and their family and cause great panics in the society. The laws which used to strike these crimes will be considered as just at any time and anywhere. At the same time, we can also find some laws disobey the basic moral standard of our mind. In the Second World War, the Nazi publish a series of laws to persecute the Jew which tell the Germany that it is guiltless or even deserving praise to kill a Jew. When we face these unjust laws, we should spend our efforts to resist such laws.

In sum, I agree the speaker’s assertion that we should obey just laws and reject unjust laws, however, the speaker fails to consider a fact that laws cannot be simply put into just ones and unjust ones. Overall, the laws we obey must be the guidance of our live and work and guarantee our society to be stable.
