"Most societies do not take their greatest thinkers seriously, even when they claim to admire them.

"很多社会并不重视思想家，即使社会宣称很景仰这些思想家。

提纲：

1. Society constraints the free air of thinking and studying.

2. society care much about the knowledge and minds applied  to  practical life, whereas  thinkers' thinking are usually hard to understand and be used in the current society.

3. Admittedly, more concentration on thinkers is likely to influence thinkers' thinking.

4. Above all, society fails to take greatest thinkers seriously. But we should have a faith that one day their thinking can be carried out in the real life.

   The most important difference between human beings and other animals is that the formers have thoughts. Owing to the thoughts, human beings have triumphantly evolved from the most primitive animals to the most advanced and sophisticated creatures. With no doubt, the thinkers providing great thoughts have made a great contribution to the advancement of human civilization. But actually, what a pity is that most societies don't take them seriously in most cases.

    One reason is that the ambivalence between the necessary free air of thinking and the constraints of the society. As we all know, society restricts people's actions in order to betterin order to confine them by some rules. The experience of  history  has proved that the society are greatly developed by people who are forced to do what they need orderly and effeciently.But as a thinker, what he needs most is obviously an free circumstance in which he can try new ideas and let imagination soar   without being forbidden or controlled by some social factors.Regretly, the fact most societies do not notice this problem result in the bondage of free air to a large extent. Thinkers become societies 'adjuncts and have to conform different kinds of rules and orders,otherwise will be penalized even to death.In ancient Greece, the great thinker Socrates did not support the Regime system of Athens whose leader only be elected by public voting without giving any consideration of achievementment and ability. And these unpopular views which bring most people's hatred finally lead to Socrates' death.

     The other reason is that society is apt to abandon thinkers' thoughts which  could not be applied to current life. It is acknowledged universally to know that the rapid progress of current society ascribes to the knowledge and minds applied to the practical life. Once the thoughts provided by the thinkers go beyond the contemporary society’s allowed using ability, society will possibly discard their thoughts and not think much of the thinkers temporally. For instance, Confucius, the great thinker in ancient china, had a series of conceptions and methods about morality, ethic and the governing of country. But at that period he is in , rulers who put an emphasis on tactics and making new stronger weapons because of   continuing war did not cherished his theory .After several hundred years ,his views just gradually were accepted and influenced  most Chinese till now.

Admittedly, if the society takes these great thinkers too seriously, the thinking process of the thinkers are likely to be influenced by too much attention from the society so that the thinkers have less time than ever before to ponder problems. On the other hand, the fact that the thinker may be surrounded by the fame and wealth supplied by the society due to excessive cares leads to ignoring the great suffer of underclass and the potential crisis of society which are helpful to the formation of thinkers' ideas.

    Above all,   too much constraints to the thinkers and  little valuing the long-term meaning of  their thoughts are two important aspects  showing that most societies fails to take great thinkers seriously .  However, the value and meaning of the thinkers during the course of human history absolutely can not be neglected and denied. The reason why their minds can not be accomplished is the society’s inability at present, not the thinkers' faults. And we should have a strong faith that these thinkers' studied fruits will be carried out in the future.

就这个题，先发表下个人观点，希望能抛砖引玉:rolleyes:
这个题目有点复杂，伟大的思想家对社会发展是有用的，比如老子、孔子、孟子。然而，对社会有用并一定会被社会重视。什么时候社会重视思想家？什么时候社会不重视思想家？不重视思想家的原因？这里就需要分别从社会和执政者两个角度来分析，也要顾忌当时的时代背景。一方面，假如思想家的一些见解对社会是有帮助的，但这些见解可能对执政者不利，导致执政者限制甚至打压思想家，思想家也就失去了展示其作用的平台，也很难被社会认可。从时代背景来看，过去的专制社会，思想家缺少展示其才华的平台，而如今的民主社会和先进的互联网，思想家一样可以表达自己的观点去影响社会，人们也越来越重视思想家。

The most important（前面加one of）difference between human beings and other animals is that the formers have thoughts. With no doubt, the thinkers providing great thoughts have made a great contribution to the advancement of human civilization（对于这句话，我是不大赞同的，人类进步是多方面因素决定的，思想家的贡献只能占其中的一小部分，甚至是很小的一部分）. But actually, what a pity is that most societies don't take them seriously in most cases. 看样子是打算完全赞同作者观点了

As we all know, society（这里应该说执政者吧？但也不能说限制人们的行为，执政者只限制违法的行为以及对他们不利的行为。而且这里说行为不合适，应该重点论述限制思想） restricts people's actions in order to betterin order to confine them by some rules（？）. Admittedly, if the society takes these great thinkers too seriously, the thinking process of the thinkers are likely to be influenced by too much attention from the society so that the thinkers have less time than ever before to ponder problems（这句话的因果关系正确吗？社会重视思想家会导致思想家容易被社会影响？以至于没有足够的时间思考问题？）. On the other hand, the fact that the thinker may be surrounded by the fame and wealth supplied by the society due to excessive cares leads to ignoring the great suffer of underclass and the potential crisis of society which are helpful to the formation of thinkers' ideas（去掉，这句话长了点，不如拆开了说，而且我不大赞同你这个观点）.我觉得你前两段从两个角度分析思想家没有被重视的原因，里面做个限定，独裁社会和人们交流手段的限制~~！然后，这段转折下，民主社会和现代高科技的手段打破了禁锢思想家的枷锁，然后……

Above all,   too much constraints to the thinkers and  little valuing the long-term meaning of  their thoughts are two important aspects  showing that most societies fails to take great thinkers seriously .  However, the value and meaning of the thinkers during the course of human history absolutely can not be neglected and denied. The reason why their minds can not be accomplished is the society’s inability at present, not the thinkers' faults. 你的思路很好，把问题的复杂性说出来了。B3的说服力不强，文章有些细节问题注意下，论证的时候区分下社会、政府、民众分别对思想家的态度，再稍微挖深一些，把三者的关系挖掘深入一些，那个孔子的素材也要换一种写法~~！加油~~！
