题目
36"The greatness of individuals can be decided only by those who live after them, not by their contemporaries."
正文
The author asserts that to decide whether individuals are great or not depends on those who live after them rather than their contemporaries. In my point of view, I partly agree with the author's opinion, that is, there are a lot of great people who can not be admitted by their contemporaries until death, while those who live after them respect them very much. However there are also a lot of people who gain the objective appreciation of his own.

In the first place, the people who live after them can view the whole life of individuals and evaluate them more objectively. Their contemporaries maybe suffer from the pressure of media, and public discussion, and governments, which results that they can not tell the truth, or they can not express their real opinions. For example, in ancient times while people and ministers discussed the greatness of their emperor, most people would say   that their emperor was one of the greatest emperors in the history, and his greatness exceeded any latter emperor. Since most emperors were glad to hear such words, otherwise, if they didn’t say such eulogistic words, they would be killed. While after the death of the emperor, few people would discuss his greatness again; perhaps many people would say that he was a tyrant.

Another reason that many significant people can't be acknowledged by their contemporaries is that their contributions to the society were too much so that their contemporaries can not realize it, or for some artists, their thoughts were too modern, their contemporaries can not accept it. For example, the paintings of Van Gohn were sold at quite a low price when he was alive, while after his death, his paintings became priceless, any of which is worth million or trillion of dollars.  In the fields of science fields, Galileo found the law of free fall, pulled down of the Aristotle’s assertion that "the heavier goods fell down more quickly", most people can not understand the principles in his contemporaries. However, nowadays, as we all know, Galileo was one of the greatest scientists in the history of physics and he made the corner stone of the modern physics.

Admittedly, there are also many people who receive the correct appreciations of themselves. With the development of technology and the progress of democracy, people can evaluate the person more objectively.  It is apt to illustrate that people first can not understand the Einstein's light-electricity theroy, however after several years, when people accept the principles, they award Einstein the Nobel Prize for his significant works. And after that Einstein was considered one of most famous authorities in the physics field. When it comes to the politics, the India Saint Gandhi was a good example. Although he was killed by a zealot of religion, he received the deserved the honor, and was called "ma ha ma", which means both saint and hero in the Indian.

To sum up, due to the reason discussed above, which sometimes correlate with each other to generate a integrate whole and thus become more convincing than any single one of them, I may be comfortable to say that people can hold a more objective and accurate evaluation of the individuals who live before them, since the nothing is better than time to evaluate the greatness of individuals. Nonetheless, with the development of society, we have reasons to believe that more and more people will get their deserved evaluation in their contemporaries.

36"The greatness of individuals can be decided only by those who live after them, not by their contemporaries."
正文
The author asserts that to decide whether individuals are great or not depends on those who live after them rather than their contemporaries. In my point of view, I partly agree with the author's opinion, that is, there are a lot of great people who can not be admitted [recognized] by their contemporaries until [or even after] death, while those who live after them respect them very much [but receive a myriad of positive evaluation by the later generation] . However [Meanwhile,] there are also a lot of people who gain the objective appreciation of his own [by contemporary fellows] .

In the first place, the people who live after them can view the whole life of individuals and evaluate them more objectively. Their contemporaries maybe suffer from the pressure of media [propaganda] , and [去掉] public discussion, and governments, which results [in] that they can not tell the truth, or they can not express their real opinions [改为neither nor 句型吧] . For example, in ancient times while people and ministers discussed the greatness of their emperor, most people would say   that their emperor was one of the greatest emperors in the history, and his greatness exceeded any latter emperor. Since most emperors were glad to hear such words [compliment] , otherwise [去掉] , if they [这里主语是emperors 应该是the mass ] didn’t say such eulogistic words, they would be killed. While [去掉] after the death of the emperor, few people would discuss [regcognize] his greatness again; perhaps many people would say that he was a tyrant.

Another reason that many significant people can't be acknowledged by their contemporaries is that their contributions to the society were too much so that their contemporaries can not realize it, or for some artists, their thoughts were too modern [complex 或其他合适的词] , their contemporaries can not accept it [them] . For example, the paintings of Van Gohn were sold at quite a low price when he was alive, while after his death, his paintings became priceless, any of which is worth million or trillion of dollars.  In the fields of science fields [去掉] , Galileo found the law of free fall, pulled down of the Aristotle’s assertion that "the heavier goods fell down more quickly", most people can not understand the principles in his contemporaries. However, nowadays, as we all know, Galileo was one of the greatest scientists in the history of physics and he made the corner stone of the modern physics. [文章例子很贴切,佩服之至]

总体来说,例子好丰富哦,语言不错,有些句子还需斟酌。

The author asserts that to decide whether individuals are great or not depends on those who live after them rather than their contemporaries. In my point of view, I partly agree with the author's opinion, that is, there are a lot of great people who can not be admitted 这个词有待商榷 by their contemporaries until death, while those who live after them respect them very much. However there are also a lot of people who gain the objective appreciation of his own from his comtemporaries似乎更恰题.

In the first place, the people who live after them can view the whole life of individuals and evaluate them more objectively. Their contemporaries maybemay suffe from the pressure of media, and 去掉and public discussion, and governments, which results that they can not tell the truth, or they can not express their real opinions.这句话很长啊,能适当用短句表示也不错 For example, in ancient times while people and ministers discussed the greatness of their emperor, most people would say   that their emperor was one of the greatest emperors in the history, and his greatness exceeded any latter prior? emperor. Since most emperors were glad to hear such words, otherwise, if they didn’t say such eulogistic words, they would be killed. While after the death of the emperor, few people would discuss his greatness again; perhaps many people would say that he was a tyrant.

Another reason that many significant people can't be acknowledged by their contemporaries is that their contributions to the society were too much(too imaginary?或者是难以让同时代人理解) so that their contemporaries can not realize it, or for some artists, their thoughts were too  modern(pioneer), their contemporaries can not accept it. For example, the paintings of Van Gohn were sold at quite a low price when he was alive, while after his death, his paintings became priceless, any of which is worth million or trillion of dollars.  In the fields of science fields, Galileo found the law of free fall, pulled down of the Aristotle’s assertion that "the heavier goods fell down more quickly", most people can not understand the principles in his contemporaries.(病句) However, nowadays, as we all know, Galileo was one of the greatest scientists in the history of physics and he made the corner stone of the modern physics.

Admittedly, there are also many people who receive the correct proper appreciations of themselves.

To sum up, due to the reasons discussed above, which sometimes correlate with each other to generate a integrate whole and thus become more convincing than any single one of them, I may be comfortable to say that people can hold a more objective and accurate evaluation of the individuals who live before them, since the nothing is better than time to evaluate the greatness of individuals. Nonetheless, with the development of society, we have reasons to believe that more and more people will get their deserved evaluation in their contemporaries.
