Some experts recommend that develop a global university which should be supported by all nations to design to involve students in solving the common problem. The suggestion sounds well at the first glance, however, when cogitating it in detail and completely, it still exist some problems and just a ideal way.

No one can deny the obviously function of global university can solve some common problems which our whole world now facing widely and effectively. As everyone can see that terrorism are now prevailing in every corner of the world and becomes more and more perilous problems which seriously challenge the whole human beings welfare. If global university really comes in to being, publicizing the danger of the terrorism action and guiding students to form a rational value criterion as well as utilize proper method to solve conflict rather than adopt extreme action may ultimately contribute to the peace of world. Some traditional virtue, such as be ready to help others, industry, honest, etc, which are commonly cherished by the whole society can be better instill into students mind. What is more, building a global university can also serve as a platform for students form different nation to communicate and enhance the culture understanding.

Although several advantage may be brought out by the global university, yet some inevitable deficits of the global university prevent it from be taken into action. First, where should it be located, is it building in the most powerful nation such as the USA or put it in the neutral nation as Switzerland. And how it enroll students from the whole world, take the unified examination or rations each nation certain quota. Another problem of which language should be use when teaching and the like would definitely to be the best realistic problem which the educators inescapably encounter. Some many countries have so large amount of different opinion, which one should be accepted becomes a headache. Second, who have authority to design the curriculum which can be suitable for every student with dissimilar nationality is still open to question. Some custom seems quite reasonable in one country may be a forbidden taboo another countries. Lack of unified standers, the thought of designing a global university is nothing but a beautiful dream.

In addition, there are some side-effects probably derived from the global university. All the students have distinct backgrounds and completely different cultural atmospheres which they unconsciously grow up in and accept. Simply take the some stander concerning to the various traditional values may cause certain confusion. It is quite likely that the global university only introduces some mainstream values due to the time and energy limitation, leading every student to act and think accordingly in the same way without consideration of their own special cultural values, time and time past, the diversity of abundant culture would disastrously expire eventually.

All these negative effects seem to preponderate over its positivity, although the start point of the global university is to contribute to human being’s welfare, however, some other realistic means such as organize some students participating in some global activities or open certain courses with regard to the most urgent world’s problem to the students of all nations can be better accelerate the progress of world.
