1, 当今媒体的力量确实非常惊人
2,英雄们正经历着媒体带来的巨大考验
3,然而,没有人是完美的,能不能拥有我们时代的英雄,还要看我们自己如何对待。
The author asserts that in this age of intensive media coverage, it become(s) more and more difficult to maintain the high reputation that a hero deserves, for almost every single person who is possibly becoming(will possibly be) a hero will be subjected to(subject to)the media scrutiny. As far as I am concerned, I hold the same idea as(+that of) most part of this comment, and moreover, deeper exploration(examination) is needed with this problem.
The fact that the power of the media is so strong that it can even detect almost any triviality in people's lives is obvious, especially for the famous people. Everyday when we read newspapers, those reports on actors, athletes, politicians and other renowned people are never absent. I wonder is it the curiosity of the public or the eager (eagerness) of the company for making money that makes such news so popular. (while去掉)While, one point is sure that media hold the capacity to dig almost any detail or any secret no matter how deep it was buried or hidden.
With this precondition, it is not surprise that a possible hero take(a) big risk to have their flaws and mistakes made(known publicly) before be exposed(to media scrutiny) on the public when they are scrutinized by the media. I have seen a book named "black affairs" on a bookstore, narrating those things happened in many celebrities, something known by few people. Only a glance at the content of the book, I was surprised about what I have read, and till now I doubt the reality of that book. And I also read on a magazine that Einstein, the prominent physical scientist, in his old ages(years), oppressed some young scientists who held opinions opposite to his in some degree. Politicians can not escape, either. Clinton's sexual scandal is one of the biggest affairs in 1998, which does not stop being discussed(the discussion about it has never come to a halt even by now) by now. If we do not examine whether those reports are true or not, the media does have the strength to destroy a hero by ceaselessly exploit his personal affairs or, worse enough, make up some news.
However, it is (a) common sense that no one is perfect in the world, and even hero has his or her own shortcomings. I think it is not the media but ourselves(that) play the decisive roles in determine(ing) whether we can have heroes or not. The job of the media is to search for those secrets and private affairs, while our job is to be rationally(in) analyzing them and make our own judgments. As more and more profound detection on humanity, people tend to realize that the hero we need is not a god but a man or a woman owns great accomplishments or makes incomparable contributions to the society, and he or she is allowed to have some flaws, some bad habits or some awful experiences. Some famous people are brave to admit the truth, and then gain more respects instead of being spurned by the public, for on the one hand, the masses appreciate the courage, and on the other hand, people feel the distance between themselves and their hero shrank., with a presupposition that the mistakes did not make harm to the society and the public.
So, although the media decrease the possibility to find perfect and flawless hero in today’s society, we can also have heroes as spiritual figures, all depending on in which way we scan those heroes, with the sufficient materials media provide (with)us.
