Students should bring a certain skepticism to whatever they study. They should question what they are taught instead of accepting it passively.

I agree with the author’s assertion that students should have a sense of skepticism, because they would benefit from it. However, when it comes to the situation that no matter whatever they study they should question them instead of accepting it passively, I am afraid that the author overstates the effect of skepticism. It is good to bring a certain skepticism to people’s lives but absolutely not to doubt everything they meet.

Admittedly, the skepticism is a valuable ability especially in the field of science. Any outstanding scientist would think a problem independently even it had been evidenced by others. By this way, it is easier for them to develop their own theories. Take the great astronomer Bruno for example, in his era the mainstream of the value about universe is controlled by religion, and they claimed that the earth-center theory. But according to the work by Copernicus and Bruno, it is the sun which is the center of the solar system. Considering that if the two astronomers accepted the theory taught by religion which was the authority passively in what time the truth of nature would be discovered. Another example is related to the fundamental particles with which made up the earth. At first time, people thought it is molecule, but with the development of physical science, the other particles which are smaller than molecule were found step by step. For instance, atom, proton, neutron, electron and quark were discovered. Now some scientists suppose that there would be the other one called "string theory" and it is also a certain skepticism to the formers. Thus, at least in scientific level, it is good for students to bring skepticism to the areas they study.

Meanwhile, I do not canonize the behavior which overly doubt to the knowledge they are taught, because it would impede or infringe their study. For example, consider a student in elementary school, if he or she doubts the fact 1 add 1 equals to 2, how they could go to the next step successfully. Because we all know that that question is so “difficult” to answer that even the most famous mathematicians also could not explain it clearly, because it is an axiom. It is obvious that the example is an extreme one. But it could illustrate that if the students overly doubt what they are taught it merely plays a counterproductive role in their studies. Consequently, students especially in the low grades had better learn so much knowledge that based on it they could avoid to question blindly.

To sum up, I bolster the author's assertion that the students should have a sense of skepticism and it indeed could stimulate the development not only in the scientific field. But overly emphasize it only could bring problems even would impede it. So the education and the parents have the responsibility to deal with it appropriately.

I agree with the author’s assertion that students should have a sense of skepticism, because they would benefit from it. However, when it comes to the situation that no matter whatever they study they should question them instead of accepting it passively, I am afraid 口语话that the author overstates the effect of skepticism. It is good to bring a certain skepticism to people’s lives but absolutely not to doubt everything they meet.
觉得最后一句化多余。

例子有些觉得不是特别好。另外,最好扣住学生来说.总的感觉太望科学倒了

To sum up, I bolster the author's assertion that the students should have a sense of skepticism and it indeed could stimulate the development not only in the scientific field. But overly emphasize it only could bring problems and even would impede it. So the education and the parents have the responsibility to deal with it appropriately.最后这句话应该可以改一下,改一个被动句吧,不要出现parents之类的,以免和上文内容无关。
