Thesis statement: 评论家不是影响创造力的主要因素,艺术家应该正确调整自己对评论的态度，有选择性的对待评论。

1.艺术家的创作带有强烈的主观性,虽然评论对艺术家的创作有积极、消极、甚至有引导的作用，但创作最重要的还是艺术家的主观意向。

2.除去一些别有用心的评论,大部分评论并非故意(tend to)赞赏或攻击艺术家,相反,评论只是观者自己的主观反映.评论有专业与非专业，故艺术家本人应当有所取舍。

3.每个人都有评论的权力,每个人都有自己的观点.遇到攻击是不可避免的.艺术家应该调整自己的心态.

4.counterargument: 诚然,现在许多艺术家过于重视评论,甚至完全为取悦评论而创作,但他们不应该忘记艺术的本质.  

5.in conclusion.     

The relationship between critics and artists is definitely subtle and seems never to end with a content conclusion. Critics, especially the cynics, by part of the artists are regarded as the nightmare which can constrain or even totally ruin their creativity of artworks. It seems that an increasing number of artists tend to hold an indifferent attitude towards their critics. However, in my perspective, critics are not decisive to creativity and artists should consider the comments with their own judgment rather than just ignoring all of them arbitrarily.

As the first reason, although the critics can influence the artists tremendously, it is the subjective perspective of the artists that is decisive to the process of creation. From encouragements and criticisms, the confidence and mood of artists can be affected. While as a matter of fact, the creativity is influenced by numerous factors such as education, gifts or family background. If sufficient attention is paid to the great masters' lives, people should discover that even the greatest artist still can't avoid being criticized. Monet might be depressed owing to the sarcastic criticisms towards his Impression Sunrise, however, never did he stop the creation of more masterpieces that were finally acknowledged by the critics and publics. In opposite, only the appreciation of critics can not boost the creation process and cultivate a great artist. Without the insightful mind and inspiration, it is impossible for artists to create impressive artworks.

Furthermore, Comments, despite the ones presented on special purpose (attacking the artist with jealous, for example), far from the truth, are just the subjective point of views of critics. "A thousand readers, a thousand Hamlet." Whether negative or not, they are variable owing to the difference among people. Just because of the diversity and variety of comments, artists should take a meticulous attitude towards them.  On one hand, it is unwise for them to credulously accept all the comments which could be professional or just presented by some amateurs. On the other hand, abandoning all the criticisms without any self-filtering is narrow minded and could even lose the right direction to create artworks.

Moreover, it is inevitable to be criticized for everybody has the right to present his/her own perspective no matter what it is positive or negative to artists. It's not the fault of a punk if he/she considers The Lord of Rings is long and boring, to the contrary, artists should filter the comments with their own thoughts but not to complain the innocent of critics. From the encouraging comments, artists can reaffirm the confidence. In addition, some constructive criticisms are reminding to the artists, with which they can perfect their artworks.

Admittedly, it is true that an increasing number of artists, especially the young, are sensitive to the critics. They are blithe when applauded, or desperate if criticized, which in the end, result in that their creation of artworks is to meet the preference of critics. However, the only eternal thing will remain after years pass by is the impressive masterpiece which contains the author's own spiritual and emotional thoughts. In contrast, at that time, critics have faded away for long and far from the memory of the publics. Artists should never forget that art is the expression of the inner emotion or thought, for that reason, critics should just be the evaluation which can be useful if artists choose the appropriate attitudes towards them.

In summary, it is necessary for artists to reconsider the role which critics play, for they can be harmonious with each other if the artists face the criticisms wisely and fearlessly. Besides, more significantly, with the conviction that insightful mind is the essence of creativity, artists can fully devote themselves to the creation process and procreate more remarkable artworks to the world.
