There is always a public debate today that what events make children become adults. Some believe that it depends on the age(the celebration), while others think there are other characteristics that make a child an adult. I think it is better to think over the overall factors.

It is undoubted that if someone is over 18 years old (maybe 21 year-old in some countries), one should have a celebration for his/her grow-up.For example, anyone who is over 18 would have a party to celebrate and could receive many wishes from his/her relatives , neighbors and friends. After that, one could do something that he/she never did before, such as drinking alcohol, dating, driving cars and so on. But it is of importance that one should take more responsibilities than before.

Obviously, getting married is another turning point for a child becoming an adult. After marriage, one should think over how to feed the family other than how to have a good party before. If one had a baby then, one should learn how to educate the baby well.
In a word, if one got married, one should find ways to make his/her family happy.

In sum, there are many events which mean a child grow-up, such as 18 year-old celebrattion, graduation, and marriage. Being an adult, you should take more social responsibilities than before; Being an adult, you should make decisions by yourself even though you may listen to others` views; Being an adult, you should learn solving problems with rationality other than full of emotion .

well, 觉得有点跑题了.  especially, when reading "being an adult".......
