Some people believe that university students should be required to attend classes. Others believe that going to classes should be optional for students. Which point of view do you agree with? Use specific reasons and details to explain your answer.


For most people, students in university should be required to attend classes as students in middle school. They should take part in the  the class, even though they do not like it . In fact, It is not nessary to be in class for students in some universities. In my opinion going to class should be optional .

Firstly, different students have  different gift –such as painting, writing and programming. It will be proved to be a mistake to force students attend the class which they are not interesting in. It is a waste of time. They will not pay enough attention to the class and will miss their ways in which they will be successful because of their gift .So giving students the rights to make their own decision ,going to class or not ,is the best thing we can do.

What’s more, more and more students in university have part-time jobs. Of course, they will have different schedulers. That means it is impossible to join all class in class-time tables. They need the opportunity to choose the class which is important for them. In my opinion, that is their right. You should not ask a student who work hard in night to wake up early to go to class in morning, though the class s in his or her class-time table.

Finally, It is obvious that not all class are necessary and useful. For instance, Bill Gates might fix himself on classes about computer science in university and history and art might be useless for him. Each student has his or her dream and prefers to the class which might give him or her hands in future.

In short, students in university need rights and chances to make up their minds not requested classes which is not fit to every one.
