The speaker claims that the video camera provides such an accurate and convincing record of contemporary life has become a more important form of documentation than written records. I agree with this assertion insofar as the video camera is an important form of documentation in today. However, I disagree with the speaker’s claim that the function of recording for the video camera is more important than written records. With the development of technology, compared to the video camera, written records also take an important role in documentation.

Admittedly, the video camera has so many advantages gained from the technology innovation. Without the video camera, our life may not be so colorful. Without the video camera, people have to wait for a few days to see the picture they have had taken. Without the video camera, some special occasions will be missed. Without the video camera, the extensive information may not be recorded on a tiny memory card. In short, the video camera indeed changes our life, makes our life easy and provides a new world for us.

However, although the video camera is advantageous to the written records, it is not an easy thing to convince me that it is more important in the form of documentation than written records. In my view, written records has so many good qualities which will not be found in the video camera. Firstly, the natural attributes make written records important. As we know, written records is famous for its convenience and easy use. Statistics reveals that the total use of written records is increasing fast every year on the planet, despite for the development of technology. Secondly, written records has a long history and is rich of culture. We Chinese have used written records for thousands of years and we are all proud of handwriting as a significant symbol for our nation. Our splendent history is made by written records. Under these meaning, written records seems to be more important than the video camera. Finally, written records may be used whenever you want. It can’t be limited by the battery as well as the problem of the operation. And written records also may not be substituted by the latest technology. It should not to be upgraded. It will not be expected to be more accurate and more convincing.

In conclusion, nowadays written records has so many advantages and it seems to be more important than the video camera in some aspects. Certainly, we should both use the video camera and written records to make our life beautiful. Any prejudice seems to be harmful for the improvement of our society.

那个关于历史悠久所以更重要的理由觉得不太切当恰当，用一切皆空分析我的文章来说（呵呵，活学活用），就是抓住video camera 主体 more accurate and convincing 途径 所以more important than written主体，所以应该重点在两个主体间的比较上。历史悠久和途径没有太多关系，顺带一说凑点字数还可以，当作单独的理由可能值得商榷
