------题目------
The video camera provides such an accurate and convincing record of contemporary life that it has become a more important form of documentation than written records.
------正文------
The statement asserts that the video camera has become a more important form of documentation than written records, because it provides more accurate and convincing record of contemporary life. Admittedly, the video camera has such advantages. Yet whether it is more crucial than written document remains a question, and the answer to this question depends on different occasions and different intentions.

Compared with written records, the video camera is more objective and can provide more details, and therefore serves as a perfect reappearance of contemporary life. While written records can only describe and present what has been seen and heard by the writers, the video camera offers people direct, vivid, and comprehensive images as well as voice. Obviously, when recording dances, dramas, concerts, or exhibitions, when document hurricanes, dust storms, or earthquakes, and when register accidents, demonstrations, or sports games, the video camera is the most useful method. Without video camera, the beauty of dances can only be imagined, the evolvement of hurricanes cannot be view completely, the truth of accidents can be concealed, and the excitement of sports games cannot be actually felt. The video camera is undoubtedly accurate and convincing, and palys an essential role in documentation, especially for those short but changeable events, which require detailed and continuous records.

Nevertheless, in some domains, the video camera is not likely to become more important than written records. While the objective video camera is used to reproduce, the comparably subjective written records are used to emphasize and conclude, especially for events or phenomena which are complex and cover a vast time scale. Written records are sorts of information which have been processed by people's thoughts, tendencies, and intentions, and then become understandings, theories, and practical rules, rather than pure information. They reflect cultures of different times and regions, and contribute to the study of philosophy, society, and humanity. They act as result of researches, and contribute to the development of academy, technology, and economy.

Additionally, even for events which are short and changeable, written records cannot be replaced by the video camera. Take baseball match for example, though the video camera is usually available, it is necessary for judges, coaches, and players to write down documents themselves. They have to look at records in order to control the development of the entire match, and written records appear to be more useful just because it is simpler and easier to read. While the detailed documents recorded by the video camera need more time to achieve further analysis, the simple written records enable them to make decisions quickly and efficiently. Moreover, written records provide information which can be easily used in statistics, while the documents offered by the video camera are rudimentary and need greater efforts. As a result, it is arbitrary to claim that the video camera is more useful than written records.

In conclusion, just as that has been stated, the video camera provides such accurate and convincing information that can never be offered by written records. However, it is unsubstantiated to conclude that written records are of less importance. Written records demonstrates people's thoughts, tendencies, and intentions, which cannot be emphasized by the video camera, and even for events short and changeable, which eagerly demand video documents, written records cannot be ignored.

Issue138 提纲

昨天的issue13的还没想好,以后再说。。。

Issue138  第7篇 让砖头来得更猛烈些吧!
------摘要------

从2006年4月23日20时15分到2006年4月23日20时0分
------题目------
Only through mistakes can there be discovery or progress.
------分析------
Key words:
Mistake: An error or a fault resulting from defective judgment, deficient knowledge, or carelessness
  Discovery: Something discovered.
Progress: Movement, as toward a goal; advance

Questions:
1.Do only mistakes lead to discovery or progress?
2.Does achieving discovery or progress need mistakes?

Answer:
1.No
2.No

------题纲------
Thesis: This statement is a sort of comfort and encouragement rather than a piece of truth.

1.Admittedly, through mistakes, people can obtain knowledge and experience to look for correct methods, but it is the correct methods, not the mistakes, which eventually induce success. Correct methods can bring people discovery and progress, even without the existence or any mistakes.
2.The statement has created an illusion that mistakes are necessary to reach discovery or progress, which is unsubstantiated and misleading. Though mistakes, which result from defective judgment, deficient knowledge, or carelessness, are usually existing can difficult for people to escape from, the efficient way to achieve success is to avoid and overcome mistakes rather than produce them.

Conclusion: Mistakes themselves have nothing to do with discovery or process.

The video camera provides such an accurate and convincing record of contemporary life that it has become a more important form of documentation than written records.
------正文------
The statement asserts that the video camera has become a more important form of documentation than written records, because it provides a more accurate and convincing record. Admittedly, the video camera has such advantages, but whether it is more crucial than written records remains a question, and the answer to this question depends on different occasions and intentions.

Compared with written records, the documents provided by video camera are more objective and detailed, serving as a reappearance of contemporary life. While written records can only describe or present events on paper, the video camera creates vivid images and voice. Video cameras are especially useful to documents events or phenomena which are short but variable, such as performances including dances, dramas, and concerts, natural phenomena including hurricanes, dust storms, and earthquakes, and social activities including accidents, demonstrations, and sports games. Without video cameras, the essential beauty of dances can only be imagined, the entire development of hurricanes cannot be viewed, the truth of accidents can be concealed, and the excitement of sports games cannot be felt.

Nevertheless, in some domains, the video camera is not likely to catch up with written records. The objective video camera is used to reproduce, whereas the comparatively subjective written records are used to emphasize and conclude. Written records combine the original information with people's thoughts, tendencies, and intentions, and then become understandings, theories, and standard rules, rather than pure data. Unlike rudimentary information offered by video cameras, written information reflects people's spiritual status, and contributes to the study of philosophy, psychology, society, and humanity.

Additionally, even for events which are short and alternative, which eagerly demand video cameras, written records cannot be ignored. Take baseball match for example, though video cameras are usually available, it is still necessary and essential for judges, coaches, and players to write down records in order to make quick decisions control the evolvement of the entire game. While video documents are too detailed to be analyzed in a short period of time, written records are extremely useful just because they are simple and easy to read. Moreover, the simple written records, which have already been processed by people, act as convenient data to be used in statistics. As a result, it is rather arbitrary to claim that the video camera is more useful than written records.

In conclusion, just as that has been stated, the video camera provides such an accurate and convincing record that can never be offered by written documents. However, it is not appropriate to compare the importance between these two methods, as they belong to different fields and distinct intentions. While the video camera produces objective reappearance of contemporary life, written records reflect people's thoughts, tendencies, and intentions. Even for events which eagerly demand documents of video cameras, written records cannot be replaced.

Society should identify those children who have special talents and abilities and begin training them at an early age so that they can eventually excel in their areas of ability. Otherwise, these talents are likely to remain undeveloped.
------分析------
Key words:
Excel: To show superiority; surpass others.

Questions:
1.Should society identify those children?
2.Should society training them at an early age?
3.Will otherwise these talents remain undeveloped?

Answers:
1.No
2.No
3.No

------题纲------
1.Society should respect children rather than identify and train them. No matter talented or not, interests and intentions of each child should be considered. It is unjust to force a child who loves art to devote into mathematics just because of a perfect skill of calculation. It is unfair to compel a child who interests in physics to take a major in history simply because an excellence ability in memorizing.
2.Society should treat all children equally rather than categorize them and differentiate them. Giving superiority to those children who are so-called talented ones will create consequent problems. Common children will be more or less neglected, and cannot acquire necessary resources. Talented children will be viewed as abnormal. It is not likely for children, either talented or not, to obtain comprehensive development in all aspects of life, including academic knowledge, activity skills, and personality.
3.It is necessary and essential for children to discover their own talents and decide how to deal with their talents. Identified by society, children will lose a valueless chance to look for their talents, and thus to examine and explore themselves. Though this kind of process, they can understand the value of their talents, find methods to use their talents, and estimate the results of using their talents. Then their talents are really and completely developend.
